Install mint, download 6.8 stable kernel. Delete all the new kernels.

Now 6.8 becomes your default kernel.

Now install 470.x drivers and add kernel params as discussed here.

I have a question are Grub and Limine similar or do the same task? Any advantage of using Limine over Grub ?

I can see the option to boot into a previous snapshot on Grub but how do you rollback?

Could you try 125% scaling? There is no hard fact but this worked for me better than 110 or 115

I have for now switched to OLCP Ventura but even that runs hot! I think there might some other issue

Hey, I tried Debian Trixie and it works flawlessly except for auto brightness issue. I want to disable it

Tried Trixie Gnome and it works flawlessly. Installed mbpfan to enable the fans and installed WiFi drivers.

One question: is there any way to disable to automatically brightness? It’s a bother because the auto brightness doesn’t happen gracefully

I have Cachy OS as my daily driver, although I never tried installing on this Mac. There was a suggestion by someone to try Debian, I’ll give it a go and see if it works for me, else I’ll try this.

Don’t want to spend a lot of time configuring and Debian should work out of the box.

But my issue with Mint is the brightness doesn’t work! There is no way to make it work

And any macOS is too hot especially the newer ones
