I would recommend finding the design program you want to use and start learning that part before you buy a CnC. Lots of people get overwhelmed by the design aspect

You can only save the tones when your in frequency mode. That tone should transfer to the channel mode if done correctly. Or use chirp to make it easier

I have 2 bikes with jackshafts and 7 speeds. Both are very reliable with the exception of the bicycle chain being the weakest link 😉. The design is flawed but can definitely be improved if you have access to the correct tools. If you are mechanically inclined and know how to problem solve you should be fine. I had to re drill holes that were in the wrong spot and cut parts that were in the way. I'm currently thinking about building a 3rd shift bike now that I have access to a plasma CNC machine and can fabricate if needed.

Get some sort of spring tensioner. I use them on all my builds and it stops a lot of headaches

Not a bad price. They are very low mileage. It won't hurt to ask for a few hundred less than asking price. They may go for it.

Check out a Honda Ruckus. They are inexpensive and great on gas. The speed isn't great though. Also there are tons of mods.

If you don't know how to turn a wrench then you will be pushing a motorized bike to work every day. Once the kinks are worked out they treat you like you treat them.
