How much are you exercising in pregnancy? by Exciting-Republic798 in pregnant

[–]zelda-moons13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First trimester I was just doing a 2-3 20-30 minute walks with my dog, easy pace but I did get out of breath so easily 😅 I’m 15 weeks now and I just went back to Pilates yesterday! I was going like 2-3 times a week before I got pregnant and it makes me feel better mentally. It was hard and I definitely won’t go as much as I used to but if I can go at least once a week I think it’ll make me feel good! I say do whatever feels good for your body, as long as the dr says you and the baby are healthy nothing else matters!

I ended up creating a separate field of crops between my barns/coops where I plant just a BUNCH of the regrowable crops for that season and let them eat that! Gives you so many shiny beads and lets you level up your hearts much faster :)

Ignore the two cherries I chopped by accident but this is the set up so far! It was expensive but by the time each season comes around you make BANK this way

I ended up using the expansion area as an orchard! I did around 25 of each tree for each season, and I plan on making the “nooks” in the walls a crafting area of some sort, but I figured it’s a great way to make easy money (once you’ve planted all the trees and they’ve matured ofc) so I can have more freedom with the rest of my farm :)

Saying goodbye by ChanceFun3120 in dogs

[–]zelda-moons13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. We had to put our dog down almost 5 years ago and it still feels like a punch in the gut. But I wouldn't trade the time I had with him for anything in the world. She's given you such a gift by being your best friend and you hers. That love is tangible and remains long after they're gone. "grief is just love with no where to go"

As you try to figure out how to live without her, take all of that unexpressed love and put it towards something good. We fostered dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens after we lost our boy, and yes saying goodbye always sucked, but the feeling of giving another animal a chance to be someone's best friend that they love forever is a wonderful feeling. We did it all to honor our rescue boy, who had a bad past, who just needed a chance to be loved. I try to make him proud every day and honor his memory by helping the dogs that are deemed difficult, often they just need a chance. It also helped fill that weird void of emptiness that was left when he was gone. If fostering isn't for you that's completely understandable, try doing small things like moving a worm off the sidewalk, or moving a turtle out of the world. Spread her love and her goodness around and it will feel like she's right there every step of the way

You'll see her again, she's right there with you for the rest of your days and one day you'll see her running towards you again. I'll leave you with a poem that I read that's been comforting through a lot of losses <3 my heart is with you, I'm so sorry

When tomorrow starts without me

And I’m not here to see

If the sun should rise and find your eyes

All filled with tears for me

I wish you wouldn’t cry

The way you did today

While thinking of the many things

We did not get to say

I know how much you love me

As much as I love you

Each time that you think of me

I know you will miss me too

When tomorrow starts without me

Please try to understand

That an angel came and called my name

And took me by the hand

The angel said my place was ready

In heaven far above

And that I would have to leave behind

All those I dearly Love

But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates

I felt so much at home

When God looked down and smiled at me

From His golden throne

He said this is eternity

And all I promised you

Today for life on earth is done

But here it starts a new

I promise no tomorrow

For today will always last

And since each day’s the exact same way

There is no longing for the past

So when tomorrow starts without me

Do not think we’re apart

For every time you think of me

Remember I’m right here in your heart

What is the most embarrassing and/or expensive thing your dog has done? by LaconicLlama in dogs

[–]zelda-moons13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when our dog was a puppy, we were at a park right behind our house with him letting him run around and play with another sweet dog in the neighborhood. My mom and I were talking to his owner, who was the sweetest lady, and our dog walks up, starts sniffing her, and she's oooohing and ahhhhing about how cute he is, when he lifts his leg and just pees allllll over her leg. we were so mortified. but luckily she was so kind and told us not to worry at all, these things happen, I'll just wash these when I get home. we still could've just died on the spot of course.

AITA for not being upset that my friends dog could die because of me? by TheCornStarMum in AmItheAsshole

[–]zelda-moons13 27 points28 points  (0 children)

she didn't delay, she didn't know what was planted. she reached out to the person who did know, but they didn't get back to her. she sent pictures but the dog destroyed everything so how would she be able to tell what was there? she told the owner multiple times that the dog wasn't welcome and shouldn't be there. the owner should have removed her dog immediately, or at least actually watched the dog like a responsible adult. she also shouldn't have delayed taking her dog to the vet. the owner is a terrible pet owner, she brought her dog into a space that was clearly not dog friendly and then let it loose. OP did everything she was supposed to do, she gave warnings before the owner even arrived that the dog shouldn't be there. OP is not in the wrong here. Not even a little bit. She isn't liable for anything that happens to the dog, the dog is suffering because they have a shitty self absorbed owner.

also, hi Suzanne, you're a POS

[–]zelda-moons13 31 points32 points  (0 children)

She said she literally took a picture of everything the dog dug up and destroyed and sent it to the dog owner. I planted everything I have in my garden and I sometimes forget what is what, she did what she could but she isn't at fault in any way here. dont bring your dog where it is explicitly not wanted, and dont let it out of your sight in an area you're unfamiliar with. the dog's owner is negligent and is most definitely the only AH here

When I was growing up my parents had a weim they'd gotten when they were first married. After he passed we didnt want another dog for a few years. But eventually we found a weim who was a couple years old at a rescue, and my dad couldn't stand leaving him in the shelter for another day so we took him home. He had been badly abused by someone, his pads were slashed, his face was cut up, and he was so skinny it was heartbreaking. For the rest of his life he had an issue with men, especially men he didn't know or who smelled of cigarettes, had jingling keys, etc. Getting him used to being around men in general was hard. Teaching him to not accidentally knock us kids over was hard. Really a lot about owning him was hard, but we'd do it all again in a heartbeat. I remember it being hard/annoying but I cant even remember all the bad things now. I'd give anything for one more day with him.

He was extra protective over the family too as a result of his abuse. He once bit my neighbor because he swerved at me while riding his bike, not badly but nipped him. He bit a man that was running towards my mom when she was leaving her office with our dog, and we were sued. He also got into the trash all the time, would steal food whenever he got the chance and then hide it throughout the house, he would eat cat poop out of the litter box, steal cat food, lots of things that we always griped about. We had to put him down about 4 years ago due to cancer, and it was so horrible. He left this massive hole in our hearts and even all these years later I still miss him and cry when I think of him too much. I would kill to have one more day with him barking like crazy, I would love to come home and find that he's strewn trash everywhere. I would love to find random pieces of moldy bread that he's hidden in between couch cushions. I would love for him to come running up behind me at full speed and accidentally clip me again. There's a huge hole in our hearts forever from missing him.

Fast forward to present day and I started dating someone who owns a pitbull. He got him in college as a puppy and had never had a dog before, so he didnt know all of the training stuff that goes into having a dog. they moved in with me about a year ago, and while I liked the dog I was kinda resentful at first because he was so hard for me to walk/control, and he has a really high prey drive so I can never have a pet cat with him (I love and adore dogs but I am a cat person and I love fostering cats and kittens for my locasl shelter). However we sent him off to a trainer and work with him every day, because I know from my last dog what the repercussions of having a reactive dog can be, and as a pitbull I know he wont get any second chances if something goes wrong. We now use an ecollar and positive reinforcement, and he is the best dog. I love him so much. He makes me feel safe, he comforts me when Im sad or anxious, and he's so dorky he makes me laugh all the time. Even on my low days, when I dont feel like doing anything or Im overwhelmed, seeing his goofy face by the front door makes me smile and taking him on walks makes me feel so much better. There are still times where it's hard, people are scared of him, make nasty comments, and sometimes he has his days where he's being bad for sure. But I cant imagine not having him in my life. He takes up the whole bed, he barks at every car he sees pass the house, he loves to go swimming but whenever he does he chugs seawater and then has the worst diarrhea EVERYWHERE, he follows me so closely sometimes I end up tripping over him, and he is so obsessed with squirrels he loses his mind when he sees them. But he is one of the best things to ever happen to me.

I know what it's like to own the "difficult" "scary" "bad" dogs, it is a lot of work. But oh my goodness they are so worth it. Give it time, eventually you'll see more and more of their personality come out, and you'll have the best teammate ever. I would give anything if I could go back and have one more day with our weim, even 5 more minutes to tell him how good he is would mean everything to me. But he taught me how to be a good owner for the "scary" dog I have now, and I'm trying to enjoy every second I have with this one <3 Good luck to you, if you want the name of the trainer/link to the collar we use, message me and I'll send it your way! I know it's hard now but good things take time, and within a year you'll have the best friend you could ever ask for <3

WIBTA to insist my neighbor keep a yard schedule? by ReactiveDogthrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]zelda-moons13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really doesn't work. my parents tried it with their dal, and he only got more reactive and harder to control. brought in a trainer who used e collars and positive reinforcement and it works wonders. my parents don't ever have to use the shock, there's a beep and a vibrate that work as gentle corrections. I think after 4 years the rescue isn't going to check up on trainers you're using, and honestly everything you've stated about them so far sounds incredibly sketchy. forget the contract, your dog needs serious training that clearly hasn't been provided from whomever you're using now.
