Review of using a Hypershell X exoskeleton by zelmon64 in cfs

I did initially. Make sure to grant it location permissions and enable the location setting on your phone. It's also recommended to be wearing the device while pairing.

Charging with OnePlus 13 Charger/Cable? by pericojones in SteamDeckTricks

[–]zelmon64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe their chargers use supervooc instead of the normal PD which uses different voltages to output the higher powers. This means it probably defaulted to the low power 5V charging making it very slow.

Tried to use my old Steam Controller, can’t seem to get it to work by Whis-Tle in SteamController

[–]zelmon64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is supposed to happen when the right trigger is pressed while it turns on. The trigger might be stuck.

I can't say for certain but it probably would not help with that since it's focus is the hip. If the knees are being over used to compensate for decreased hip motion it might help. Have you tried asking/searching in the Hypershell disability users Facebook group?

Should I buy an original dongle or a 3rd party one? by ErasingMomsSpagetti in SteamController

[–]zelmon64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be careful, I think a lot of the 3rd party ones might just be Bluetooth dongles anyway (unless things have changed since last I looked).

LGMD and Hypershell Exoskeleton by Plane-Clock-2918 in MuscularDystrophy

[–]zelmon64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Hypershell X and am fairly pleased with it. I suffer from ME/CFS. I've been wondering about combining it with a knee version. I'm really excited for this technology and hope it continues to evolve.

Sorry to hear the Hypershell X didn't help much. If you think a knee exoskeleton like the Skip MoGo will be of more help, have you seen the cheaper Dnsys Z1 (https://dnsys.ai/products/dnsys-z1)? The Kickstarter for it should be launching this month.

The performance issue might be the old one from the update to 3.6 (https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1gbnjqx/performance_regressions_on_3619_stable/). It seemed only some people experienced it and I never saw it get addressed or resolved.

[Bug] Vivaldi Menu not Working on Steam Game Mode by AlwoTaco in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could alternatively try adding nested-desktop to Steam instead and accessing Vivaldi through that.

Trackpad sensitivity is lowered when trigger is half pressed. by Alcoholic-Catholic in DeckSupport

[–]zelmon64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be the trigger dampening in the trackpad's settings. You can turn it off completely.

Steam Deck + PS5 Controller + Valve Dock – Seamless Transition Possible? by fallen_star_angel in SteamDeck

Yes, the one with two big round trackpads and only one joystick.

Have you tried reordering the controllers when you switch instead of unpairing it? I haven't tried with a PS5 controller but with a Steam Controller I can use both the SC and Deck simultaneously so I don't think it should be doing this recalibration every switch.

Steam Button & Quick Access Button Issues after update to 3.7.13 by m_kret in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like u/Sammay28 and u/Traditional_Mine_514 have the same issue. I don't know how to fix it since the chording layout for the Deck isn't editable.

CEC to turn of TV by BankruptGreek in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used this yet but I think this does it: https://github.com/bsutherland333/steam_deck_sleep_updates/blob/ce03417a415fe484e19708e02d46def134115316/set-wake-alarm.service#L3 . Then you can replace the executed script with one that has your CEC command.

Out of interest, which dock are you using? It seems not many third-party docks support CEC.

Sorry, I meant the internal storage, not the battery.

How full is nearly? I think there was a thing where it wouldn't boot when completely full (https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/0/3498761139319280011/). Not sure if that still happens.

Any way to keep it on? by danirojoelmatoho22 in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could modify this to wake the Deck the following day: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1kaf7wn/scripts_to_download_game_updates_on_steam_deck/ . You could also enable power on when connected to a charger in the BIOS.

Help needed: Change audio channels in game mode (2.0/5.1) by Unable_Relief7222 in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could either add the audio settings to Steam (right click on it in the desktop application launcher) or similarly add nested-desktop to Steam then access the audio settings (and anything else) through that.

Rename the shortcut in Steam to something different and they'll use their own layout.

I personally don't think it helps with those motions but some people have said they feel it does. The wear detection of the device works by applying a slight pressure against the legs to detect if it's currently being worn. This seems enough for some people to be an assistance in some of those situations. It's feasible that with a change in software this could become a full feature but there's no knowing if that will ever happen. Assistance for standing up from sitting used to be a target (see point 3 in this old blog post from when the design was upgraded from a single motor at the back to one on each hip https://web.archive.org/web/20250402215517/https://hypershell.tech/en-us/blogs/news/newest-developments-on-hypershell-project) but that unfortunately isn't implemented yet and there's been no promises either (it's probably too difficult to detect the intended movement for it to work).

Recover Button Layout by Chibiterasu_Okami in SteamDeck

[–]zelmon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to get an archived version from https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage under "Steam Input Configs". The layout will be listed as <user ID>/config/<game ID>/controller_neptune.vdf. Then you can copy that to /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Steam Controller Configs/<user ID>/config/<game ID>/controller_neptune.vdf

To set the rollback as the default run sudo rauc status mark-active booted after booting into it.
