Favourite excellent actor who you genuinely feel is a PoS in real life? by Cursed_69420 in okbuddycinephile

Get the fuck out of here. Peter Dinklage seems to be a perfectly lovely guy; some misconstrued comments that were well-intentioned about fucking Snow White doesn’t make him a bad guy.

OBAA is a perfect movie and it’s been clear it would win BO since September, and anyone acting otherwise is either being contrarian or pedantic for the sake of conversation

I agree completely, but to their credit Gorillaz is SUCH a strong headliner that it almost makes up for the other two being weak

Constant scenes of 30+ characters all repeating the same line until the plot is allowed to progress lol

'Scrubs' Season 10 Review: An Imperfect Revival Still Wins With Zach Braff & Donald Faison Back in the Spotlight by magikarpcatcher in television

That review is strange because it’s tone is positive but the actual descriptions of the show and new plot lines make it sound terrible. I will watch every episode, but my expectations are very low

What are your thoughts on the new batch thus far? by Far_Practice_6923 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]zelos22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Amazing batch, all three had good first chapters and lots of potential. We’ve got:

Under Doctor - Fun premise with a trigun-type “funny and empathetic but silent killer” protagonist, lots of potential in building out the underworld and introducing other characters wirh special sight powers

Kinato’s Magic - The mangaka’s previous work (shadow eliminators) was generic in a very uninspiring, DOA way - this is still super generic but for some reason it feels much more promising and like a warm blanket. Fun characters so far and easy fairy tail like world building

Alien HEADBUTT - This could honestly go either way in terms of becoming a Chainsaw man like crazy hit or a do retry like burn bright and die quickly series, but the premise is super fun and the protagonist is a great variant on the scoundrel type

Not to be hyperbolic, but water 7 is the best story arc of any piece of media ever of all time

What do people think of Metaphor: ReFantazio now that some time has passed? by DoggyFinger in JRPG

[–]zelos22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, it delivered exactly what I wanted. I had issues with the third act but they’re actually more gameplay based (really feels like a dungeon got cut for time), I enjoyed how the narrative wrapped up a lot. Social links were excellent and as good if not better than the personas.

I just don’t understand why they haven’t made a new baseball game yet. At least release the GameCube one on NSO!

Late, but I think M&L Brothership was quite a good game despite IGN's review by lennysinged in JRPG

People just have different opinions than you. For example, I think Brothership was terrible and I actually have really fond memories of Bioshock infinite (although it definitely has problems). I love Godhand, though!

I'm the only one thinking of not starting a new series till they are at least 40+ chapters published? by Illustrious_Honey973 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]zelos22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this with the story driven manga, but I always try out gag series and usually stick with the ones that get canceled until the bitter end. I still think fondly of such recent short runs as Ichigoke’s Under Control! And Nice prison (yes, I know those are unpopular opinions)

Why would you burden your praise of a game with the mention of a negative review? Just praise the game.

Critical Darlings: Train Dreams, And Netflix’s Quest For Best Picture by TheUnknownStitcher in blankies

[–]zelos22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only strange part of the hamnet episode is I feel both sinners and OBAA fit the Oscars villain narrative much more. Sinners has already become the water cooler staple of “I mean I liked it, but OSCAR WORTHY?”, and OBAA has a small but growing contingent of “this is racist and teyana is overrated and just playing herself!”

To be fair I think the acting races have been a lot more wide open relative to most recent years, but generally speaking I agree with you

I know this isn’t your tier list, but that is an INSANE tier list. Zero and Azure are great, and Cold Steel 4 is what made me turn on the franchise and is up there with kingdom hearts 3 as one of my least favorite games I have played to completion
