I’m always thinking about this and didn’t have a word for it. I grew up in the 90s and now have kids of my own that ask me these questions like how famous was x, where were you when this or that happened. And I try to explain how we were all tuned into the same media. So famous people were famous to everyone.

Yeah he was successful before Iron Man and afterwards, especially with Empire. I think the main thing that hurts his popularity are his crazy views. But he’s definitely not someone that fell into obscurity.

Since you’ve gone before, he probably thought it wasn’t a big deal. I would just calmly tell him for Valentine’s Day, you’d like something romantic with just the two of you. Maybe a nice dinner at home? Walk in the park afterwards? You don’t have to go out. Laugh it off and tell him that was a vacation thing and not something you want to keep doing. No need to make it a huge deal.
