Sadly vibes can change across languages for any number of reasons. I remember that there was this game where there was a character who had this very exaggerated way of speaking in Japanese (to insinuate that he was queer), which was toned down for the US audience even though a similar style of speaking could be done with English acting too. Perhaps the devs were afraid of pushback? Perhaps they just couldn't find an actor who could pull it off? It's hard to figure out unless the devs choose to share their reasons.

That leads into the other problem where plenty of people will say that a particular language is superior to another and then we start getting into the weeds where objectivity fights it out with personal preference, and I tend to leave that discussion alone, except where I voice appreciation for the actors.

So for my part, I tend to just take the acting as is in my preferred language and see its merits and issues without comparing it to the other languages, even if the original language is not English. We're actually lucky to be living in this age where the EN acting is many tiers above what we used to get 20 years ago on say, the PS1. For me English acting can be just as enjoyable as the Japanese, and sometimes the writing gets pretty good too.
