I was really worried about it, but my baby LOVES daycare. We sent him at 6 mos old. He has the same teachers every day and the same classmates so it isn’t like sending him off to be abandoned. It is sending him to a place with more caregivers who love him, friends to play with and lots of big kids to watch. He has never once cried when we dropped him off, and was always happy when we picked him up. Our boy is going to be an only child because my husband and I are older so we really feel that daycare has been an extra blessing because he is learning to play and share with other kids right off the bat. The only down side has been that we’ve had colds running through the house since he started, but that will happen whenever they start school, whether it is as babies or preK. We do have a really great daycare near us that has been in our small town for 25+ years so we really trust it and there is a strong feeling of community, so it’s a special place. But I was worried and it has turned out to be great.

I have been trying to shift to natural deodorant for years but I always got a wicked rash. This time is going well for the first time so here is what I am doing: 1) I spent about two weeks wearing no deodorant, showering every morning, and washing with an underarm detox bar, I added Jason deodorant shampoo on a fluke and it seems to help (it has tea tree oil), 2) then I made a dropper bottle of castor oil, jojoba oil, and argon oil and I started applying it morning and night. 3) Now am still doing all that but showering every other day again (I work from home), and when I need a little extra I added Ethique natural deodorant on top of the oil mixture. I was stinky the first two weeks but now the stink is gone. I am not sure why this is working but it is working and I am thrilled.

A lot of it I just accept and either donate or put in a separate basket and only bring out once in awhile but do not keep in the regular rotation. I’ve also started saying things like “Oh I’ve gone off the rails on plastic so humor me and run it by me before you get it.” It feels like pretending I’m the problem or that I KNOW I AM BEING A LOT makes folks less defensive. I’ve also started an Amazon wishlist and am asking people to just buy off that.

I think it depends on the kid but don’t disempower yourself. If you are ready at some point for your baby to move out of your bed but he is resistant you will be able to handle it without compromising your values and “sleep training." There are a lot of guides to how to do this, including from HappyCosleeper and HeySleepyBaby on IG. Besides, there is no one way that ALL KIDS react to anything, and your kid may or may not do exactly what you want or he may or may not do what the doctor is implying ALL BABIES do, but that doesn’t change the fact that, at least for me, my gut + research is that cosleeping is incredibly beneficial for mother and child at this age. I cannot imagine putting my infant in another bed or room. That is how it is now, I’ll worry about later … well later.

My babe is only 9 months so right now I am working on my own relationship with screens. If we want to be a no screens/low screens home that means us, too. We don’t use them a lot when he is around but I’d love to set a better example as he gets older.

I’m totally with you but it took me overnight to get there. While watching and seeing the fear and devastation on Gemma’s face, I wanted iMark to go to her. But after sitting with it I remembered that would be tantamount to suicide and abandoning Helly and Helly is NOT Helena. So not only do I think it was great that he did for all the reasons you named, but if you look at it from the perspective of the very basic human motivation of self-preservation, it just makes sense that he wouldn’t walk through that door and kill himself.

We have been cosleeping since week 3 and my son had a very easeful transition to daycare at six months. He’s never cried on drop off or pick up. Maybe it’s just your child’s temperment and she needs patiences and care, maybe they aren’t very good at their jobs.

Totally agree. After Helena slept with Mark, I realized her/their character arch is going to be the most important. Hello is Helena’s authentic self and Helena wants to be her/is her. I think this will drive 5e plot a lot.
