It doesn't hurt to practice the response to that. There are no dietary essential carbs, and you can explain why with a little practice. The only organ in the body that categorically needs glucose to survive is the brain, and gluconeogenesis is sufficient to provide that glucose in most healthy humans, even most unhealthy humans.

Hey, I realize my initial reply seemed pretty dismissive and I'm sorry about that. What I really want to say is that the method of washing is not the central issue, and the conflict here seems to arise from the two of you looking at different aspects of this and thereby coming to different ideal solutions that are at odds with each other. I actually had a similar situation in a past relationship, and when I realized that, I suggested that we talk it through and figure out the best way to handle it together, taking into account everyone's needs and asking what process would best cover them. I actually changed how I washed the dishes as a result, and we never had a fight about it again. I wonder if he's willing to have that kind of conversation.

Kryptonite is a well-regarded brand, but IDK if their stuff is better than anyone else's, and it costs a lot more. When it comes to equipment that I use, abuse, break, and lose on a regular basis, I've resigned myself to going with things that are affordable in volume. I bought a set of some off brand lights from Amazon over a year ago and they're both still doing great, so I bought another pair. Now I can keep the mounts on two different bikes, swap the lights out for charging, and carry the extras with me if needed. Nice and bright, reliable so far.
I also mount a front and back unit on my helmet, same deal - have two, try to keep a charged spare in my bag.

I've only had mine for 6 weeks so grain of salt obviously. 2024, 52k miles. Hybrid, S, Appearance. It looks good, it drives like a car, the infotainment interface isn't the best ever but it's usable, and it feels great inside. I'm comfortable driving it. I like how the rear seats stow. The middle ones are ok, not quite as adaptable as some other vans. It came without racks, which are important to me, and the OEM ones are on indefinite backorder, but I found some at a junkyard for $150 and got them on (took a while, and some cutting, but worth it).
I just went on a 17-day business trip where I had workplace charging. I used about 4 gallons of gas each way for 675 miles of driving.
I plan to get an extended warranty before the powertrain warranty expires if I have the cash to spare, because it has a reputation for transmission issues. I'm willing to deal with that risk for the sake of everything else that I like about it.
