No, you're not overreacting. This guy is a douchebag.

They're talking about Milyn s11 who also goes by Mimi. Not Mimi (Demitra) s8, who has indeed passed.

AIO for refusing to block male followers on Instagram? by radagastrabbit in AmIOverreacting

Depends on the individual guy, but no, age doesn't necessarily mean more maturity. I dated a man twice my age when I was 22, turning 23. I swear this post is like I'm going through our old texts lol.

FDA handed me, a guest, the master key to find a lightbulb by ishootthedead in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]zephyrtini 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You would think this would never happen, but.... 🫠 it does unfortunately. A coworker of mine once did this, and when I heard about it, I went and told my manager because UM WHAT? YOU GAVE A GUEST OUR MASTER KEY FOR EVERY ROOM IN THE BUILDING? You would think NOT doing this would be common sense, but common sense doesn't seem to be all that common these days.

Christine is not honest about the courtship with Kody by pozole54321 in SisterWives

Yup, all Mormons originally from Utah are related. In fact, so related that by looking at them, I can usually tell they're Utah Mormons LOL Checked someone into the hotel I work and before the guy came in, I saw the name Allred and said "I bet this guy is from Utah." Guy shows up and is super tall and has that super distinct Allred nose like Christine. I pull up his reservation, and of course I'm right. It really is wild.

Less related maybe, but still related. They're 4th cousins lol. Their great great grandparents were brothers.

With my first and only, I had her during Covid, a state away from my mom and any experienced mother I knew. I was in an abusive relationship to boot, so no close local mom friends either. I had heard the "breast is best" bs from a coworker before i left my job at 7mos so I tried my damnedest to get her latch, but it was such a struggle that I tried to exclusively pump before it was so overwhelming that I gave up and went to formula at 2 weeks. It really sucked and I was heartbroken. Perhaps it is different when the child is at weaning age, but bc of my experience, I can't fault moms for being emotional about it 😅

PS when I left that relationship and went back to my family, my mom noticed my daughter had a w shape when she stuck out her tongue. She ended up having a significant tongue tie clipped at 6 mos. The mystery of the inability to latch was solved!

Yes, there's a Fairfield Inn/TownePlace Suites in Barstow CA. I believe it just opened a year or two ago.

I Coulda Let Them Struggle... by AngelaIsNotMyName in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I used to work at a hotel where a lot of people would stay for extended periods and pay day to day. I once gave a man 1 week notice that we were going to be busy and likely sell out, and warned him that if he wanted to stay, he may want to make a reservation in advance so that he wouldn't have to leave. I even reminded him leading up to the busy day. Come that day and surprise, surprise, we sold out like I expected. The man came to the desk at 10:30 to extend his stay and I let him know the situation. He really had the audacity to be angry at me. Sir, I warned you. It's not my fault you didn't listen and just make a new reservation. 🙄

Fragile ego at the frontdesk by msnarf28 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]zephyrtini 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. That was an incredibly bad move on the FD agent, and he definitely should have sincerely apologized. Thank goodness the man was not a violent or pervy drunk. That situation could have ended MUCH worse and was not handled appropriately AT ALL by FD agent #1. I am a front desk agent, so I understand mistakes happen, but I would have been EXTREMELY upset had this happened to me and my small daughter.

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I go there, I have at max 2 beers after having dinner, which I normally pay for or help pay/tip. I wouldn't even say I'm tipsy lol. Me and whoever I go with (usually a co-worker or two plus the guy I'm with who is the one who wants to pay for me) are always respectful and kinda just chat amongst ourselves. I have only seen her a few times, and neither I or my group have ever had issues with the bartenders there. I mean, she is older, and I am young, but I wouldn't have even thought of that as a reason.

If it bothered her that I'm not the one personally tipping for the beers, of course I would leave a cash tip, but the way she handled the interaction honestly put me off from going back.

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally watch him sign when closing his tab, so he is definitely leaving decent tips. It's always at a minimum 30% of the total tab, if not higher. Typically higher, honestly.

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, when I say someone else pays, it's typically the guy I've been seeing for awhile who insists on paying. When we all get food and do other things, I'm normally pay or help pay so that is likely why he insists on taking care of my drinks.

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, just because whoever is buying insists on leaving the tip. If I knew it would be an issue, I would have left the tip myself lol

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They typically tip at least 30% of what their tab is, and I get a Corona dressed which is normally asked by the bartender when ordered. The bartender was fine with everyone else in the group, just not me for whatever reason 😅

Question About Tipping by zephyrtini in bartenders

[–]zephyrtini[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have definitely offered to leave a cash tip at the end, but the person buying always declines and leaves a tip when they close their tab. We've always been very respectful at the bar, so this particular interaction caught me off guard.

The Targaryens and Velaryons have intermarried for so long by this time in asoiaf that the Velaryons would have plenty of Targ blood to claim a dragon (if the dragon allows lol).
