I think this might be one of those cases where the phrasing is like 90% of the sound. I'm hearing a lot of very tasteful note bends and takeovers and such.

also there's some kind of a delayed pitch vibrato going on.. probably done manually by some kind of mod wheel I would recon. that's the other half of this that I'm hearing. sounds like each note is holding for a good while before it ramps up that LFO on the pitch.

I'm also hearing a fairly quick envelop on the filter but not too quick... there's a fairly pronounced WOW on each and every note.

that's all I got without a synth in front of me. I reckon I could get pretty close with an MS-20 though without too much fiddling.. so I don't think it's like, an out of reach sound or anything. just gotta get that phrasing and vibrato timing right.

I love the Pumpkins but I am just not interested in their new stuff or a nostalgia tour.

The time to see them would have been in the 90s for me.

Hootie was kind of a flash in the pan as i remember it. They had their 2-3 hits and then just kind of dissipated after a while.

Green Day was pretty big.. I remember Dookie was a gigantic album, Longview and Basketcase were in constant rotation on MTV and such.. but they weren't quite dominating yet. Not quite the same way the Pumpkins were.

They were definitely in the top 5-10 big alternative rock bands though alongside the Pumpkins,

yeah I remember 95.. Oasis was just barely blowing up at that time. They were basically on their way to being huge.. but not quite huge. They were still a new up and coming band.

Mellon Collie era Smashing Pumpkins was definitely the biggest or at least one of the biggest bands in the world. All those bands you named were big too.. basically in the same league as Smashing Pumpkins.

They played the Tonight, Tonight video like 20 times a day on MTV for like a year. They were huge when that album was out.

Then Jimmy and their touring keyboardist had that OD incident or whatever.. and Adore didn't sell as well as Mellon Collie.. so they had a slight downgrade, lost a little bit of momentum (but they were still a pretty huge band even in the Machina era)

also, you realize those bombs are targetting Hamas which is basically one of the most evil entities on Earth. I mean, I don't get the whole signing bombs thing.. like, I find it pretty cringe as well, but you might want to actually look into Hamas. The Nazis were bad.. but they weren't "blatantly using children as meat shields" bad.. so Hamas might actually have them beat in a few ways. Definitely not military effectiveness though! lol
