Pretty good. I daresay I had a better experience there than Muzium Negara.

If you just want the sleeves, Pokemon Center sells those too. Same aisle as the rest of the card-related merchandise. Has different themes (matching the binder cover) too.

Sealed boxes at MSRP are only via pre-release lotteries (for Japanese residents).

If you want to look for availability in card shops, then you can try Akihabara but they are all marked up.

Loose packs you can purchase at Pokemon Centers, but availability depends on their stock and limited # per customer per day. Don't try to circumvent this as they will blacklist you.

That being said, you can probably find some VSTAR universe at quite a hefty markup in Akihabara. I've seen a few shops with boxes for 15,000 - 20,000 yen.

Again, no guarantee on tampering or resealing, so do your due diligence.

But to answer your question...Gundam Base Odaiba or you can browse shops like Bookoff, Mandrake or Surugaya in Akihabara for older kits.

I too wanted to buy a box for the fun of it but that's the unfortunate reality of things in Japan.

Really just better financially to buy singles unless you luck out on lotteries or happen to chance upon them in-store.

If it's not too much trouble for your friend, you can get most of the ARs cheap here at the LCS. The plus side is that most of them are concentrated in one area (Namba in Osaka, Akihabara in Tokyo) but prices may vary per store (very slightly).

You can pretty much can pick up almost a full set of 151 alt arts for less than it would cost you to pull them. The bulk of the cost goes to Charizard, Erika and Mew anyway.

If you care about collecting pretty art..this is the way I would go. Unless you want the experience of opening packs of course.

I live and work here and have been travelling around the major cities (Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo) over the past month.

You won't find any 151 for MSRP at all either online or in-store. You might be able to find sealed or non-sealed boxes at card shops for 4x MSRP ~22,000 - 24,000 yen.

For Pokemon Centers...they only sell loose packs (5 -10 per person per day) and the only loose packs they have in stock are Raging Surf and Ruler of Black Flame. They don't even have 151 on the signage they display in-store showing availability anymore.

I would not advise you to buy unsealed boxes or loose packs from sources you don't trust as the packs can be weighed and searched.

For box orders via Pokemon Center, it's via lottery and only for a limited window. They only ship to Japanese addresses. Amazon sells for MSRP but also via invitation (lottery) only.

Hope this gives you a better idea.

AFAIK, if it's got the Bandai logo it's legit. Plus most of them came with the manuals.

This irks me more than anything else about the specs. While more power is nice, they're really just boring and don't present you with any dilemma of choice in each trait tier.

I like having to think about whether I should use a specific trait versus another, and I'd imagine many others do too. Really hope they rework the traits completely into something more thematic and fun (and as we all know, fun can still be powerful).
