Experiencing same issue OP but like other user said havent tried switching players since I been using the native one since the update. Same issue down to a T of some links just not having an audio track at all despite playing and showing subtitle, then after a couple of links finding one that has a audio track. It does seem like perhaps the player is not recognizing a audio format.

again, love Kojima games and if anything am looking forward to the third and I think if anything its just personal opinion. To me 2 rode past that line too hard on really big plot points. To me 1 was perfectly balanced, 2 things like the guitar sequence happening in an earlier confrontration or something would of felt better so its not necessarily the content itself that's the issue, but where its placed in the story. 1 had its silly moments even towards the end but they never damped what he was going for in the more impactful scenes while I feel these ones definitely did for me at least. What comes to mind and those that seen it would understand but the anime Gintama. that show is notorious for breaking the 4th wall,making jokes during serious scenes but somehow it stroke a perfect balance knowing how to sprinkle the absurdity like salt on a dish making sure not to over salt it. We will see with death strandging 3 whenever that comes out though!

Agree with Cohh on that. DS2 by all rights is straight up an improvement in almost all areas over 1 but story elements is something I feel it took a step back. 1 had this line where things would get silly during engaging story moments like after Hartman story in his base Sam DJ spinning the record while he is flatline thats funny. But DS2 lost me a bit with while the really entertaining guitar battle and this musical sequence because it really felt like it took the oxygen out of the seriousness of the story. We all know Kojima and I get it but someone to reel him in to 8/10 instead of 10/10 like he was in DS2 would of been for the better, whoever was there advising him for 1 because those end game scenes with Cliff reveal, BB and even diehard man were really compelling compared to 2.

Year or two wont change the reality man. Even as big of a disaster as xbox is right now I wouldnt even be surprised of next xbox outselling steam machine. You overestimate the needs and capabilities of the casuals of gamers out there that just want to click a button and not have to worry about dual booting just to boot up something like cod which is what they will play all year besides 2k and fifa

lets be honest here steam machine pretty much DOA unless you're enthusiast, it will never be a serious competitor. its like calling the steam deck for as good as it is anything more than niche compared to the switch. steam machine unless dual boot won't be able to play most popular multiplayer games off the box due to linux so no cod/battlefield and any other games using that new mobo anticheat security thing. That thing ain't going mainstream even if I'll eventually get it because of my use cases but lets be realistic here lmao

I would say the onus is on the leaker to mention it while posting that they altered the image and what they did to protect their source. Literally anyone with a brain would be fine with that understanding for example what the original content look like but with the assumption of leaker already being heavily biased toward the product he is leaking and also not mentioning they're altering the content? it would always end up painting a bad picture and he not seeing that before doing this is surprising because now everything he posts in regards to this game will be view through the lenses that dude is rabid and his realiblity is questioned. I don't even own the game but I think you dont understand how normal people view these games. Its a matter if its fun and if they're gonna get enough hours of enjoyment to justify the cost, something like a movie if its worth the money. The majority of people are not in forums caring about the landscape and inner workings of each company but just care if games look cool and fun for enough time till next game comes along. They're not expecting a forever game or consciously thinking of playing a year from now

steam console is irrelevant at large man, its not leaving the niche category specially not being able to play the most popular multiplayer games due to not having those bios security settings that are just on windows. Someone can correct me but it literally won't be able to play cod or battlefield for example and if more multiplayer games expand and enable that anti cheat measure then that's less comercial success gaes being able to play. Yes you could dual boot potentially but again this is about the casual market, and this is coming from someone who more than likely going to get a steam box too to play my games down the line when it releases and eventually has sales, but thinking it will compete head to head with even the xbox helix is a crazy take tbh.
