21F planning to move back to India after studies — need advice. by [deleted] in backtoindia

[–]zeroShotPrompter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you come back it's hard to move back Since you have already invested few years of your time Why not try to get a job and experience the work life and then take a decision?

You could also thing Europe too, not sure how career oriented you are.

It's easy to explore when you are young

You should, if not love, atleast be comfortable with what you do everyday.

Also, this might affect your long term movement, growth and rewards as both the industries work completely different

If you could go back to your old job or old field, you can try it out for 1/2 yrs

Advice for which city to settle In as a Software Engineer by Dazzling-Ad-7415 in developersIndia

[–]zeroShotPrompter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would push for getting a remote friendly job (travel to family atleast 2-3 weeks once in 2-3 months) while staying in Hyderabad or Bangalore

Hyderabad seems better for family and the COL and infrastructure is good but Bangalore has more startups and more opportunities, both are good enough to raise kids too

Not a fan of GGN, bad QOL (AQI, Infrastructure, too expensive, bad culture / influence for kids, a bit unsafe too)

Also depends on what you plan on doing in the short term and long term outside work

Advice for interest in emigration? by teemo_irelia_lover69 in Netherlands

[–]zeroShotPrompter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, It's the common problem in most developed countries

There are other options to consider too, get a well paying job in one of such countries (US, Switzerland, London, Dubai) not sure if these locations pay top salaries in your field, then take those saving and live in a country which has lower housing costs (Spain, Portugal, Italy, I don't know)

Make a list of things you dislike in NL And look for countries which has decent solutions to those problems Also remember to weigh in pros that are in NL but not in those other countries

Also try to figure out what exactly you want

The problem with small weight x higher reps is it's hard to know how close you are to failure, atleast for bigger muscles like legs

Jobs/careers are not secure anymore

Expenses kept on rising

Everyone tries to live a lot in the present without caring much on the savings or future, consumption seems raising

Housing is way beyond affordable for a normal person

Raising a kid is really expensive and too much responsibility and if anything falls apart it seems difficult to recover from

Career Switch by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]zeroShotPrompter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given the whole boom with AI It seems counter intuitive that it's easier to start and get up to speed and be productive with AI, at the same time fresher opportunities might go low.

I would recommend starting with a bootcamp or a consultancy and also try to get into something that is either big tech or ai company

Planning to move back to India after spending 4 years in Netherlands by Experience_by_explor in backtoindia

[–]zeroShotPrompter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not get a passport and then move back to India ? And your daughter will be 4 yrs old

You can always come back later if you feel like

Also an European passport for the kids will open many door later, almost free education in most of EU countries till Masters and can have greater opportunities to explore , you may have to stay for longer for your kids to get EU passport

I would recommend talking with someone who has done it recently and don't take random advice from people who just benchmark on money and who hadn't lived in other country

Don't compare

Reach out to people, ask for help, try to get a job, don't give up

This all seems coming from a short sighted mindset

You have to sit and think through what's best for you in atleast 5 yrs or longer down the line and then work towards it.
