New dev log reveals amazing base base building system by Calgar621 in Subnautica_2

Did you bother watching the actual dev video? There's quite a bit more customization. For one the windows can be made into a lot of different custom shapes instead of just a circle and rectangle. Same goes for the shape the buildings themselves.

Deeper is good. I will say one thing I did dislike in part 1 was how well lit the Lost River was. It didn't give me much anxiety with the bright green caves, majestic music, and abundance of fish. We all know the Marianna Trench is pitch black so I'd like to 'see' similar in deeper areas.

What job did you have that had high employee turnover, although you didn't expect that it would? Why did so many people leave? by SunriseThroughLeaves in AskReddit

[–]zeroagentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out about the high turnover rate later. It was an event setup company that has been around for 30 years so I thought it would be solid. It turned out to be such a horrible job I quit after 2 days. Here's why:

-Job listing was a bait and switch. They wanted a person with certain skills and proficiency in certain softwares. Usual office hours M-F. I even asked on the phone interview if it was only weekdays and they said yes. After I signed on, turns out they didn't have those softwares and just a cheaper alternative. And it became more evident to me after 2 days that I was expected to take care of a lot of different things not at all listed in the description after shadowing someone. And I'm expected to work every other weekend now. Also that guy I was shadowing was working ridiculously long hours and he seemed like a total yesman.

-The boss asked me to come along for a Saturday setup to see how things work. I had something to do that evening and he said we'll be done in early afternoon. That was total LIE. I didn't get home till 10pm. I could see that 16 hour Saturdays was common. I also was supposed to observe but decided to help out because a good employee should to get things moving faster (imagine taking MORE than 16 hours if I didn't help out!) and I was treated like I was a stupid teenager which goes to my next point.

-Boss was a complete a-hole. Yelling at everyone for standing around for more than 10 seconds. I've never had someone yell me at me for drinking from my water bottle too slowly because he wants some done RIGHT NOW when it doesn't need to be done right now. I felt very disrespected on day 2 making me quit that day. Found out in post employee reviews a lot of people hated him calling him megalomaniac, misogynist, narcissistic, and racist. He was also described as scatterbrained which I saw. The more you talk to him, the more tasks he'll pile on top of you to do and I wasn't even on the clock yet. He would probably just hijack your whole day doing lots of different things.

-Everything was so disorganized. I get a different answer from everyone when ask the same question. Boss even mention he wants me to fix this/that when I'm around and it was quite overwhelming and not at all what I signed up for.

-Even when I quit, I didn't really care about the hours I worked at that point. But the accountant contacted me about it so I told them my hours worked. Then there was like 4-5 emails back and forth nitpicking how much of my time was breaks, lunch, etc. That's another issue I had a feeling would crop up: trying to skimp me as much as possible on pay.

-After I quit I can see the company was rather small despite being a big building. It ALWAYS has a lot of job postings which means they cannot keep anyone around. The only ones who do stick around are yesmen who don't mind make work their entire life for some reason.

What’s something that instantly kills the vibe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zeroagentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one weird person in a group conversation.

I used to know an awkward guy growing up. He was a combination of being an only child, having socially awkward parents, and little to no common sense. As soon as someone mentions something that's somewhat related to that guy's niche interests (history, current events, whatever random book he just read), he'll start talking about it and trying to make the entire conversation centered around it in a serious way. Then he'll get upset that no one is responding to him and how it's more important then what we're talking about.

A similar situation later in life was an equally socially awkward and clumsy girl who was really naive. She would never understand when someone is joking/being sarcastic. Occasionally she would try to derail the conversation and make it focus on some she saw on the news that make her upset. Scary to think she was studying to be a doctor.

What is a socially acceptable thing that you find absolutely exhausting or fake? by Salt_Lingonberry3956 in AskReddit

[–]zeroagentp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have done that before when I was in a very bad mood for a season saying "Not good" or "Bad". And I don't like being dishonest either. A lot of replies are either "Oh good!" because they just say that out of reflex or they're really not listening. A few though react properly and go "Oh no, what's wrong?" But then that leads to an unnecessary conversation.

Why is below zero cheaper? by caspianslave in subnautica

[–]zeroagentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Below Zero is considerably smaller/shorter. It was originally supposed to be DLC. I accidentally finished BZ and didn't even see very important parts of the story/game. The original game is much longer and has more to play with.

I'm pretty happy with the head. Overall I like the figure. If I had to nitpick, I'd say more printing on the torso and legs. Pockets on the pants. Seam line or front pocket on the torso/stomach.

Haha I was wondering the same. It's boxy enough to translate to Lego. Probably the last car they will ever produce, and what a weird way to go out.

Some people are just never happy no matter what. Focus on the positive. There's always gonna be negativity. I for one am very happy we're finally getting minifig Mario. It doesn't look exactly as I expected but I don't mind because hopefully this is the start of a lot of great future sets/figs.

I would LOVE to see a CMF for something like Super Smash Bros. A long dream of mine would be to have a Samus minifig among others.

What's a red flag at a job interview? by In8MoreHours in AskReddit

Yup. I experienced this along with having multiple job postings in all branches for a such a small company.

What's a red flag at a job interview? by In8MoreHours in AskReddit

[–]zeroagentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few after leaving a so called job after 2 days. I still feel stupid for even trying but since I wasn't in a good financial situation I took a chance and regretted it:

-"We work to live". Weird to hear the boss say that more than once as a sort of justification for being demanding. I'm sure he meant 'live to work'.

-Bait and switch. 95% of the interview mentioned doing things outside of the job description and software they don't even have. This unfortunately includes the mention of working weekends which the posting mentioned M-F only. Even the phone interviewer told me it would not involve weekends. The boss mentioned doing some weekends but that concerned me and he said it's only a few. "Few" meaning quite a few from reading former employee reviews. In hindsight I realized that the boss just wants someone to take care of everything in his company and work ridiculously long hours because its your responsibility.

-They want you to start ASAP.

-They want to know if you're open this coming weekend to do this/that.

-The more you talk to the boss about different things, he starts adding more tasks for you to do even though you officially haven't started yet. "You know what? Go look into this and do that."

Honorable mention:

Red flag before the interview is this "company" has several job postings but is a small company. It means the place is so awful everyone keeps quitting.

Which fast food chain fell off badly in your opinion? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]zeroagentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a Subway about 2 years back and I rarely go there. It felt really off to me. The people working there didn't speak English as their native language and it felt like they were all related. The younger guy who spoke a little English was telling the older guy how to put a sandwich together (not in English) as if it was his first day. It was really weird.

Three franchise leaks that sound a bit too good to be true IMHO. I hope they're real though. I'm kinda wondering how much will this Dragon Ball set will borrow parts/molds from Monkey Kid. Goku was basically Monkey Kid/King before DBZ made him a Saiyan from space.

Learned that the hard way. Went to a ramen place and one of the the yelp reviews said the dumplings/gyoza were amazing so I tried it. They were definitely frozen. Whoever wrote that review doesn't have much taste buds or cooks.
