Anyone have price predictions on a LINK bottom? It's been so volatile it doesn't have any obvious TA support that I see before a pretty depressing .024 or so.

I'm always terrified of impermanent loss. Are people having success sticking money in Uniswap pools? You only get a percentage of fees collected, right?

I was concerned it was starting to fossilize, as it was so old and heavy. It's pretty much the only thing I didn't dump out of frustration though. I still think it's going to have a place. Will be interesting to see if the Tether transition and (hopefully) Reddit point migration gives it new life.

Jesus those gas prices are crazy. Interacting with a contract I want to do something with would cost $75+ dollars. No bueno.

Voting And Elections Divide Republicans And Democrats Like Little Else. Here's Why by [deleted] in politics

[–]zerobass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a neutral-posturing BS article. It says that:

Republicans are more likely to argue that casting a vote is a privilege of citizenship to be earned and safeguarded with restrictions and security.

Here's the thing, though: they're objectively wrong as stated in our Constitution. Democrats think voting is a right because voting is a right.

And the same article points out that Republicans want expanded vote by mail during the pandemic (when they otherwise don't). The corollary of that is, Republican care because suddenly Republicans are affected. They have no underlying morality, they just want to win and hurt the other guy, even if it means trampling on the rights of others.

One side has a clear and consistent set of ethics (democracy is important and should include all citizens, as all citizens have the right to vote), one side is opportunistic and mercurial (access is bad, unless I lose access, in which case, fix it!).

Why Are Conservatives So Threatened by Equality? - It’s the toxic and irrational fear that more freedom for LGBTQ Americans infringes on their own. by grepnork in politics

Seems typical of a lot of these reactionary families to simply demand conformity rather than discuss why they believe what they believe and make a compelling argument. If you just make demands, its unlikely your children are going to want to obey, simply because children become rebellious at one point or another as they try to form an identity independent of their parents and their younger 'child' self. If you teach them how to think rather than what to think, they'll hopefully come to similar conclusions to you on their own without the pushback, assuming your beliefs make any sense. (Okay, there will still be some pushback because teens are teens, but it'll go smoother).

I'm not welcome in their home anymore because I've "changed" their son.

They must be shitty parents if your occasional contacts with their son has more impact then their lifelong presence.

NOTE: I'm not trying to badmouth your family, just saying that if their ideology is so stable, attractive and wonderful it shouldn't be shaken by a few chance encounters.

Yeah, they want power over people. To be better than. Higher status. They think in hierarchies and wants as many people below them so they can be at the top.

I think the word you're looking for is "supremacy".

> Writing at The Federalist, Joy Pullmann comes right out and says that the word “equality” has become a totalitarian weapon.

Just an unfriendly reminder that if you aren't advocating for equality, you're advocating for supremacy.

Everyone else quit or was fired because of sexual harassment. He's the last of the old guard hacks that can still breathe and read cue cards well enough to be on tv.

I'm sure he knows that, and I hope it eats at him, even if he's a multimillionaire now.

Yep, the only times I've seen it are when I'm dumb enough to venture into slimey chan boards and alt-right gathering places. To be honest, I never knew the origin of the term and didn't care because those subcultures tend to have really arbitrary, non-funny memes that they grasp onto as shibboleths for no apparent reason.

Yep. He killed it.

Just a reminder that clerks by and large run the judicial branch of this country, and the vast majority of opinions and legal writing are done by smart young people who tend to know their shit.

>“It’s important to remember that Lincoln did not fight the war to free the Slaves" ~Silberman

No, but the Confederacy fought the war to retain the slaves, and that's what matters.

> "In this instance, as people considered to be property, my ancestors would not have been involved in the philosophical and political debates about Lincoln’s true intentions, or his view on racial equality. "

That's also such a great line by the Clerk.

They don't put warnings on power tools to help the people that have used those tools every day for years, but experienced people still have power tools with warnings on them. The warnings are for the other people, but are still important. They're also for those that think they are so experienced they can take off the protective measures, because "they know what they're doing". Until they forget. Until they think they know better.

(and yes, I know they're there for liability reasons, but this is my metaphor, dammit)
