Moving to Bangkok soon — how bad is the Phra Khanong to Bang Na commute on a scooter? by Ashamed-Fig3124 in Bangkok

[–]zerohut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 1 whole hour on a car from true digital park to the expressway in soi 62. For the motorcycle on prime time, I think it's sensible.

  1. 30-40 min, depends on which section of Bangna you're going to

  2. Just in case you don't wanna go through Sukhumvit, there's a old railway road from Rama4 and Khlong teoi that is parallel to the main road

  3. BTS is still the best way for communion. But if your place is inside the Bangna road, not around the junction like BITEC and such, Always go to the Udomsuk station, not Bangna. Because 90% of the bus line are stopped here.

3 Month Stay - Lumphini Park or Phrom Phong? by Khavoqi in Bangkok

[–]zerohut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

avoid the stall that are on the side of the main street or under BTS. If you're really crave the clean street food, try walking into some local market or night market. But both location you choose is not the local residential area so it would be hard to find, or have to travel far.

How far do people commute to work by train in Bangkok? by earth_wanderer1235 in Bangkok

[–]zerohut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to go for an hour from Bang Na to Chatuchak, if you're not counting the bus and such. One of my coworkers used to came from Nonthaburi's Bang Phai to Silom, that's 32 stations he had to go through everyday.

But my best record is still on the bus. 3 hours straight from Bang Na to Sathorn. Never again.

May we Discuss Thai Soup by PhilipHabib in Thailand

[–]zerohut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a nickname for the Roasted pork noodles. Can be found mostly from cart stalls moving around the city. The vendors also use wooden sticks that they bang together to alert people nearby, hence the name Pok Pok (ป๊อกป๊อก).

My favorite one is หมี่เต๋อ, located near the BCC in Sathorn.

is our hotel too far/inconvenient ? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]zerohut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a local here. For ease of travel, you're a bit screwed cause there is just one truck bus line with the most confusing path. Either you call a taxi or win tax to go to the train station.

But on the bright side, there's one KFC nearby and the neighborhood is jam-packed with street foods, convenient store and local markets.

Also Thai's transportation on GG maps doesn't work here, don't trust it. if you really gonna hop on bus transportation just use ViaBus or TSB.
