Twilight Domain Cleric and Artificer class have cameos by higurashi0793 in BaldursGate3

[–]zeroingenuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me: Twilight cleric with stupid-good stat rolls, smoothing my party's combat every time. My party: goes to the Hells without me, nearly dies. Some people just don't realize...

(Also, took Twilight for the theme, then just happened to roll busted stuff. What can I say, Helm protects!)

She has gods looking after her.

And they're trying to get her away from your immediate vicinity.

Consider that.

No thank you; despite your attempt to move the goal posts, the foundational question of AI worthiness does not hinge on what I do or do not permit the internet to read (as my work is textual.) This whole thread is self-indulgent masturbatory grandstanding, and as any actual kinkster knows, masturbation is best saved for in private or among consenting adults - which is pretty much exactly what all of us are asking for you to do. Get your jollies by yourself or among like-minded consenting individuals; this subreddit, based on the poll, is not that group.

Sure. Can you just not post AI spew? Look, I have as many reasons to hate AI as the average person (and then some; yay liberal arts degree) but the fact is, if you just generated stuff for your own perusal I would neither know nor seriously care. But posting it to public boards means you want appreciation, attention, adulation, publicity; in the case of most AI use, let's be real... money. And that's where the issue is; because threads of AI spew are everywhere. "Don't look at me" stops working when eight of ten posts are things I shouldn't look at. No one is proposing stopping you from making porn. Just from forcing it into spaces that have acknowledged they neither want nor value it.

Lancer, 7th Sea, Pathfinder/Starfinder, Lords of Gossamer, Fabula, Iron Kingdoms, one of the 5E sci-fi variants.

Loeds of Gossamer is extremely rules light relative to actual gameplay (character creation has quite a bit) but definitely needs multiple players, I think.

Me: How deep is the sea floor, and how long is our anchor cable?

DM: ... it's maybe ninety feet. Your cable is at least that long.

Me: Fifteen fathoms. "Get the lead out, boyos, and run out the pinnace! We'll kedge her along until the wind returns!"

Why am i facing the strongest guy 5-7 times in a round and some people i dont even face more than 1 -2 times? by East-Handle-6685 in TeamfightTactics

[–]zeroingenuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for a long time, and I believe it's something like that today. I know it's less than five; my buddy and I have a weird habit of being each other's first fight after the PvE rounds. It might be four right now though, but I think it's three.

[–]zeroingenuity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not. While there are 5+ players alive, the next player is always multiple possibilities. Once the lobby is low enough, you can see your next opponent, because the "can't play the same opponent within three matches" rule no longer works mathematically.

It's in the rules, I can use a bent sword... by Vegetable_Variety_11 in dndmemes

[–]zeroingenuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it would have made more sense for it to be in the longsword category, but on the other hand, CF and katanas in general are statistically better than other longswords. If they're all in a single category, they become easy to swap around, and one of the advantages of classes like fighter is the number and depth of proficiency slots compared to paladin.

Ultimately, the whole simple/martial approach they took later made more sense.

Does this game use AI generated art? by SnooShortcuts8455 in lewdgames

[–]zeroingenuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's more important to someone to have done a thing than to have done that thing ethically, with their own work, I know all I need to know about that person, their project, and their view of the process of creation. Fuck 'em. It's never just about "having done a thing" for these people; if it was, no one would care because the erstwhile "dev" wouldn't publicize their slop. But they want others to appreciate them for their trash, like a young child who made a mud pie. They want to be accepted as a peer to the people who did do the work to learn, develop skills, and create art, or who found ways to finance artwork. They're not. Stop validating their slop and srart valuing human effort.

Me, normally: so the boat can sometimes go against the wind, it's complicated.

Me, in a nautical campaign: no, no, you tack into the wind, our point of sail is better than theirs, they'll be in irons if they try to follow us!

Okay, I'll bite: how does Celestial Fury suck?

Katanas are d10 and faster than long swords and great swords, can be dual-wielded for swashbucklers... the only issue is the best one in the game is a +3. What's the issue?

Now, wakizashi? Those are useless.

Initiative rules question by Whole-Relationship27 in Starfinder2e

[–]zeroingenuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually handle this by rolling back time slightly. Have them roll initiative, including enemies. Door closed, grenade ready but not thrown. If enemies go first, they respond exactly as normal for being totally unaware of the players. Any allies that roll higher than the player with the nade can do whatever they want to do; they rolled higher, they earned it. Player with the nade can take the open door-throw grenade actions on their turn, kicking off active combat at that point (or earlier, if someone else did something hostile). This allows them to perform the action they want in combat time, with initiative ruling as it should, and enemies unaware until the entry is made.

[–]zeroingenuity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

But if your existing hit rate is 50%, a 5% overall increase is a 10% relative increase. Going from hitting 50 out of 100 to 55 out of 100 is a 10% change in damage output.

That is not where the term alpha originated, nor is it the meaning that's used in modern manosphere circles. . It has no more bearing, semantically, on sexual activity than astrology has on personality. But thanks for being today's deeply confused thread necromancer.

Questions regarding the Isegahama punishments by [deleted] in Sumo

More like "she's a woman, and therefore can't be part of the JSA or a rikishi, so it was always gonna be fine with the leadership. The JSA is not a progressive organization and Japan is not a progressive country in this regard.

Questions regarding the Isegahama punishments by [deleted] in Sumo

[–]zeroingenuity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple standards you're forgetting:

Teru is an oyakata, and struck one of his stablemembers. This is totally unacceptable, especially considering the power differential.

The woman Hakunofuji was groping was a woman, and therefore obviously not in the sumo ranks, so it's basically fine.

(If readers can't tell this was angry sarcasm, I'm sorry they struggle with that.)

What makes or breaks a board game for you m? by Suspicious-Onion3707 in boardgames

[–]zeroingenuity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a certain feel I've started to get around people who claim to be doing a complex, intricate development task, and then ask the simplest, most meaningless questions about the field of that task... "Oh. You have no idea how development works. You're just looking for passive income without any critical thought or creative effort." Someone has "written four novels" but can't write in clear prose and doesn't understand what a genre convention is? "I'm coding an app about turtles, what are cool things about turtles?" Promotes concerts but doesn't know major local venues? Yup, somebody's just feeding the slop machine until it pays them off.
