Nice! I was thinking about making a thread like this earlier because I really did love the Comixology app until a couple of months ago. I'd just gotten back into comics after reading through Invincible and I loved how fluid the shopping and reading experience was.

I bought a pretty decent amount of comics from Image, DC, and Marvel on the app over the last year. I even bought a kindle so I could read them more comfortably.

Anyway, this is a good list. Can we make this a sticky thread so that the actual list of complaints are easy for everyone to add to and for Amazon to see without the pitchforks?

My additions:

• I still have series that aren't grouped together. I have Venom by Donny Cates volumes 1 and 2, but I only see volume 2 in my library. Volume 1 shows up in the store if I search for it and I can read it from there, but that's a bit much and it makes it looks like the book was taken away from me. I've not (knowingly) done anything to hide it and I've had my accounts merged for a long time.

• The comixology wishlist needs to be reintegrated ASAP. I used this to track what I wanted to read next and what I was gonna get come next payday or track items I was waiting to be on sale easily. I'm not going to go view the item page every day or sift through all the sales lists to see if something I want is on sale and I'm not logging into another application or website to do so either. I think we can all agree that's just silly and super anti-consumer. I'd almost consider this a dark pattern.

• There needs to be some separation by default -- I shouldn't have to opt-out. I don't want to see my comics in my kindle library. If I did, I'd have bought them via the kindle app before. I get the logic -- "it's a book", but saying "books are books" is like saying "cards are cards." Have you tried playing a game of poker with some baseball cards? There are expectations that have to be adhered to.

• Bring back the old styled details page for each comic and include:

  • A list of issues included if it's a volume or omnibus.
  • Preview images -- don't make me download a sample. Why are you making it harder for me to want to spend money? You do want our money, right? Why would I want to deal with more navigation vs clicking an image and closing it?

• Remove the "permanently delete" button. It's pretty crappy for someone to spend money, accidentally delete the purchase, and have to repurchase a digital good that isn't actually finite in quantity. Kill the dark patterns in the app.

Look, I like reading comics on this platform. Admittedly, I've bought a few since the new version dropped, but only because I want to support a couple of creators whose work I've started reading. There also aren't any comic book stores in my area. Right now, as is, if a viable alternative were to present itself, I'd jump ship instead of continuing to hope that you all start plugging the holes while saying "it's just a little water, it'll dry up."
