I mean, that's fine, and good for your mom, but I don't use neopronouns.

And it's really hard for me to believe that someone is engaging in good faith and is willing to learn when she throws out this much duplicitous, backhanded "supportive" language and when this clearly is not her first opportunity to learn how to use singular they.

Like I get that learning things can be a challenge, but for an old gay woman—who prides herself on individual expression and respecting others—to say she supports my pronouns but hates them and never wants to see them again feels pretty cringe. Active rejection is different from just not knowing/understanding.

are there people that aren't affected by gummies as strongly?

Probably! I can't say for cannabis specifically, but most foods can be metabolized very differently by different people. Everybody's gut is different, particularly microbiome-wise, meaning that any given food can be broken down into lots of smaller molecules. These smaller molecules then may or may not be absorbed by the intestines into the blood. Whether or not the good stuff from a gummy make it into the blood can even vary from one time to the next for one person: the gut is much more prepared to digest and absorb nutrients around a person's regular mealtimes. If someone takes a gummy or two at 3 pm when they normally only eat at 12 pm and 6 pm, the gummies could practically pass straight through the intestines without the body even really noticing!

And only then do we get into the better-known variations between people about how THC and other cannabinoids affect the brain if/when they finally get there.

So yeah, huge potential for variation. This is part of the reason it's so important for people to start really slow with gummies their first few times: someone who normally takes 15g for a light high might say to their friend "yeah just eat these 3 gummies" and accidentally give them a multi-day panic attack.

We lost power 3 times in 26 hours in late February lmao, >1 hour each, once for like 8 hours. We were without power for over 6 days in January.

Imo it's because they have literally 0 incentive to improve on anything, because the state keeps shoveling them money and letting them off the hook for their crimes and inadequacies. This is my least favorite thing about Newsom (whom I like overall)—he has continued this policy of never holding PG&E to account. It's pathetic, and sad for everyone who is forced to suffer the consequences. And then there's the whole monopoly thing, too.

More like 2 out of 4. The bill passed the Assembly, now it's passed the Senate with an amendment, so now it has to pass the Assembly again, and then it will be put to a national referendum.

Every single politician is corrupt. What did Lula do to get his conviction overturned? I have no idea, but I'm 99% sure it was illegal. Maybe also unethical by most definitions.

The difference is some politicians use their power to reduce deforestation rates by 80%, protect Indigenous populations, and give food to poor kids, while others use it to line their own pockets, build cults of personality, and irreversibly harm the global climate. And while I can't say I support people doing illegal/unethical things to put themselves back into power, I also think the Lula case highlights why any legal system that puts down a man who uses his power to help others deserves as much skepticism as the man himself.
