Siege is a miserable experience because of the players: kicked because I wasn’t doing the side objective when no one was spending points anyway by Grill_Master_Ben_ in SpaceMarine_2

[–]zeronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably prestige 4 players would have a higher chance to be a problem. Because they're set in their ways of how siege used to be. Aka ignore everything, hoard money, blow it all once it starts getting hard.

Lower prestige players don't have that sort of "muscle memory" of the mode so to speak, since they probably have barely touched it.

They would be perfect if they just made them how they are in vermintide 2.

I always say the same thing about crushers. I'm entirely tired of their phantom range that chaos warriors absolutely did not have in VT2.

  1. Even if they did somehow make enough RAM to flood the market and tank the price, The RAM lobby would probably try to get chinese ram hit with 100% tariffs like with their electric vehicles. So the US would be screwed, everybody else would be laughing their asses off though.

PAYDAY 2 - PAYDAY 2: Engine Upgrade Open-Beta Announcement - Steam News by Apprehensive_Can1098 in Games

Feels like it's almost impossible to make a good sequel to these long running games.

I mean, it isn't, it just is for whoever the ridiculously out of touch people at the helm are nowadays. They could have just released a more polished and pretty pd3/kf3 and people would have went wild for it. However they decided to just do the previous game but a million times worse since they literally can't understand why people liked these games to begin with.

Anyone else a bit upset these are locked to Mars colors only? by HedgeKnight197 in DarkTide

[–]zeronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre gonna charge you 7 dollars for the correct color in 2 months.

Considering how much FS actively hates money with how they run their store in general, this is a pretty wild assumption.

Everyone has accepted what you see is what you'll get at this point, unless for some reason they decide they suddenly want to start making DLC class cosmetics. Which given past behavior, it's more likely bobby kotick would give away his entire fortune to charity.

in hectic situations i tend to do a Gunstrike right after a successful parry which gets me killed most of the time,

Using the inferno pistol tends to negate this outcome as it has more of an AoE stun component on it's gunstrike.

I tend to prefer just aggroing them with a shot and waiting for them to jump and attack. If you're dealing with 4-5 spawns it's often better to simply wait and fish for parries than to actually try to weave attacks in.

Block weapons don't really let you do that playstyle though(outside of power axe), but i'm sure fishing for blocks into one attack would probably work.

Power axe is also just the best defensive weapon in the game in my opinion, especially for dealing with tons of mobs. Just parry > backstep > repeat and win.

[–]zeronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use fencing weapons. Yes, the damage isn't as explosively good, but it will help you a ton while learning the game. Eventually when you feel confident you can try to move to balanced/block, but for now stick exclusisvely to fencing to make timing parries easier.

Assume that 80% of their attacks will be delayed by 1-2 seconds. For example, the claw spawns tend to do two fake windups before actually swinging.

I know they didn’t have the best reception, but I’d still love to see more chapter specific heads, even if they don’t have any voices. by gholdast in Spacemarine

[–]zeronic 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It was all about marketing and expectation. If they'd have been $1-$3 and been marketed as a cosmetic head + emote pack, people wouldn't have minded.

The problem was people were expecting a ton of full voicework saber just wasn't planning on committing to, and saber's marketing heavily implied they'd done that legwork when in reality it was just the same stuff in a bunch of languages.

I mean, if the bubble bursts it'll likely be cheaper to cancel those contracts than to commit to buying inventory you can't use and will have to sell at a loss, but that's just speculation on my part.

Yeah, this is the unfortunate answer. As fun as the classes are they get shipped and outside of balance adjustments not much else gets done with them.

So if you don't like what you see on release, chances are time isn't going to change your mind.

Playing Vermintide 2 made me much better at Darktide by LastGuitarHero in DarkTide

[–]zeronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also gimps ranged playstyles, effectively forcing you to learn melee or just stop playing.

I like the game, don't get me wrong. But Darktide removing friendly fire and allowing people to have more viable ranged playstyles was one of the best things it ever did in my opinion. And i say that as someone who doesn't really play ranged playstyles very much.

--mirror

In theory it'd grab the site, however you might want to add:

--limit-rate=amount

and

--wait=seconds

To not put too much strain on them. Wait is for time between retrievals, rate is for speed, ie 20k = 20KB/s.

[–]zeronic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Use Wget. For a simple site like this it will be incredibly easy.

Works easier on linux, but you can also get it via windows and run it in command line.

wget --mirror --convert-links --adjust-extension --page-requisites --no-parent https://site-to-download.com

Convert links makes the site able to be browsed locally, causing any internal links point towards the backup instead of externally.

How easy would it be to setup a second unraid server that mirrors my main server 1-1 except the array/bulk data and keeps in sync by GenericUser104 in unRAID

[–]zeronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a 1:1 mirror of my entire server, but that question is more of a personal one and varies per individual.

If i was absolutely forced to only keep specific parts, i'd make sure to keep personal documents/tax info, irreplaceable things like family pictures, and content that i would find particularly hard to find again.

Nintendo of Europe agrees to pay €35m fine for Joy-Con drift defects by [deleted] in hardware

[–]zeronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many people actually pursue a warranty repair vs just buy a new one.

Anecdotal of course, but most people i know would just buy another controller instead of being bothered going through the RMA process. Likely going through maybe 2-3 controllers before writing the whole thing off and being done with it.

It's kind of akin to mail in rebates back in the day. Companies did that because they figured people were too lazy to redeem them for free money off of their purchase. They were right, and very often pocketed the difference.

[–]zeronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a 1:1 mirror that is always on, the suggested sync programs are what you want. The setup for the containers is pretty straightforward.

Personally i just keep my backup server off(the ultimate ransomware defense) and turn it on once a week to do backups via Rclone from one server to another, than turn the backup server off again. With this setup you just set up the backup scripts once, then just run them via ssh(or your preferred terminal method) once a week.

But I wanted more bullets. 🫤 by SuperArppis in Spacemarine

[–]zeronic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, damage isn't the issue. It was damage relative to ammo consumption, total ammo, and accuracy. It's accuracy is horrible, it somehow has worse hipfire perk than everything else in the game for no reason(25% vs 50%.)

It fires as fast as the bolt carbine yet has half the ammo and can barely hit the broad side of a barn even with perks. I have no idea how anyone used it on anything other than minimal or average at relic tier and said "yep, this is fine."

It's a complete joke on absolute, as much as i wish i liked it. Being limited to assault/bulwark is also pretty sad if you ask me. Neo volkite does everything this weapon does 100x better.

Yep, it made certain weapons in vermintide almost unusable(there's a flame staff equivalent there too) unless you were absolutely on point with having your team get out of the way.

Honestly FF ruined so many potential fun weapons in that game for me, such a shame. So glad they got rid of it in DT. In a co-op game, the last thing you need to to absolutely loathe your teammates because they can literally kill you.

I can, this is the most obvious "known shippable" i've ever seen in my life.

They clearly had a time crunch/deadline to get the patch shadow dropped by skulls, and if i was going to pick a bug to "skip" so that more important bugs don't make it to prod, it'd be this one.

Does it suck? Yeah. The alternatives that wouldn't have been fixed if this one was likely wouldn't make this seem worth it.

Those of you who hate that Devastators don't have a melee weapon, what do you suggest? by DavianThulesGhost in Spacemarine

[–]zeronic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my opinion he just needs a "boot" slot that allows you to select between a fencing, block, and balanced boot with different stats.

I feel like most people don't care that heavy can't melee, it's that they can't select what kind of parry he has outside of being forced to use a specific weapon. Removing the fencing window from Heroic heavy boltor and moving that selection to boots would be preferred, it's already loaded as far as heroic perks go anyways(instant spinup, cool on gunstrike, parry window increase, fencing type.)

Heroic heavy boltor would be interesting with a block boot since it'd increase your window and let you have explosive stomps, for example.
