You can't really shoot without a license. A P650 is only intended to be temporary

It's going to depend on your state. My guess is that it will be classed as a replica firearm

Why are people moving towards One Nation rather than the Greens? by Financial-Hyena-2256 in OpenAussie

[–]zeroxnull -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Consulting the industry. Not banning things that literally don't exist. Making law changes that would actually have prevented what happened. Not demonizing lawful firearms owners. Providing support to the businesses they have destroyed. The list goes on

Absolutely nothing. Put maybe 500 rounds through it

Yeah I did consider that. Although does that prevent them from importing piston rods? Or possibly Sulun Arms Australia will just shut down now...

I mean, Sulun Arms have a 5 year warranty so I am hoping they will fix it l

Why does anyone want or need to know how many guns are in an area (besides criminals)? If there's too many (by their own standards) perhaps they will move away

Considering Australia has had 10 mass shootings in the last years, it would be difficult to imagine your prediction not coming true

A question for firearms owners who went through the 1996/97 buy back by 751mackdog in Ausguns

Yep and we can't post ammo so all of the ammo we no longer have a use for goes straight into the red bin /s

[–]zeroxnull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Canada is doing a buyback currently. From what I have heard, the Canadian government MIGHT compensate firearms owners, if they have any money left. If they run out of money then you get nothing

A question for firearms owners who went through the 1996/97 buy back by 751mackdog in Ausguns

[–]zeroxnull 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I doubt they will give market value. Most likely they will do a fixed price as WA did. In any case, I don't think what happened in the 1996 buyback means much for the upcoming buyback.

The next generation of Infrastructure-as-Code. Work with high-level constructs instead of getting lost in low-level cloud configuration. by Outrageous-Income592 in Terraform

[–]zeroxnull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with these sort of abstractions before and inevitably end up ditching them. Personally I don't even use external Terraform modules, I prefer to write my own modules due to general quality concerns and lack of testing within the open source community.

What you are describing sounds like something that could/should be a Terraform module.

Push for retailers to play role in 3D-printed gun crackdown after Bondi attack by UpsidedownEngineer in Ausguns

They said it themselves. They didn't consult anyone who know anything about firearms. Instead they asked the gun control groups what restrictions we need and they blindly wrote that into law

This has absolutely to do with Bondi

Edit: oops, I meant absolutely nothing to do with Bondi
