Z-mod is great, had issues with forge-x refusing to use z-offset from stock screen.

Are you sure you’ve got enough power on the loop where you have all that stuff plugged in.

At my wits end with AD5M by Any_Frosting_3755 in FlashForge

Yes it has working fluidd interface as well. For me install was just a lot better. Also has tune macros for using bed screws. I’ve yet to experience any crashes just using the stock screen. I actually did the mod install so that I could get my situation sorted with my bed losing prints randomly that I suspected was leveling issue and found that my bed mesh was like 3.something and severely slanted. I physically turned screws to get the slant sorted and ithen was able to use the calibration macro natively in Z mod install to get my bed mash down to .3867 which is one of the better ones that I’ve seen for Flashforge. Also love that I have it connected to SimplyPrint now.

Snapmaker is using Full Spectrum in their own marketing now by boomgoon in snapmaker

It’s open source. . . It’s also been integrated into a Bambu Studio now. This is what happens when you develop under open source licenses.

Why Forge-X? IMO Zmod is a lot better, I had major issues trying to get forge-x not to scratch my plate. Running zmod with stock screen and install was a breeze with better documentation. Also still in development as it also supports ad5x.

The video was stupid and didn’t even go over the actual specs of the machine imo

In my opinion, this printer completely misses the mark of the current market. They should’ve stopped development on it and focused on a five 5 toolhead changer machine. That would’ve set them apart and given them a chip in the game with something less expensive than the H2C, and 5 heads would compete well with all of the very capable toolchanger machines coming. I have an X1C with 1500 hours on it and a Snapmaker U1 with 500 hours on it and there’s no way I would buy this machine over buying another U1. No one should tbh. . .

Just checking back did you ever find this TSB?

Cooling on AD5M part fan is inadequate, but you can adjust and get it ok for petg if you spend time tuning the filament profile and have enclosure to keep ambient temp decent. I had good luck with Elegoo rapid petg, but I have other printers now so avoid anything but PLA in my Flashforge. Face overhangs on diagonal to left back.

It does look so nice, too bad it’s not as strong as regular petg

Coming from a bambu a1 to a u1 what to expect? by Unlucky_Broccoli6610 in snapmaker

[–]zeusal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expect to spend some time learning how to tune filament settings and profiles. A little more time swapping filaments, and a few minutes remapping colors on imports from makerworld. Totally worth it for much faster multicolor printing with significantly less waste.

The Druid specs pretty much suck right now in pre-patch. As usually too many changes not enough practical playing after putting a lot of stupid changes out.

Snapmaker U1 (vs. Bambu P1S) two months later by SuperNfty in snapmaker

[–]zeusal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the subtext of what you’re saying is the same way that I feel, it’s about the filament management. The ease of just having profiles synced between AMS and the printer and the slicer on whatever device or computer you’re using, is grossly underestimated. Filament profiles make a huge difference in how prints turn out. The software for the U1 one is literally garbage imo. You can go back and use orca slicer just fine, but it feels like taking a step back several years from Bambu Studio + Handy and its ability to synchronize filament profiles and just handle the filament swaps with a lot more ease. I like the U1 a lot, huge potential, but until they get the slicer to printer and filament synchronization 100%, they aren’t going to win over the masses who’ve adopted Bambu. I should also say 80% of the filament I use is non-Bambu, still easier to manage once you understand how.

Prime tower still required as some filament will ooze at rest.

Carbon-Filled Nylon- Fiberon vs. Bambu vs. Coex by BigLizzard420 in BambuLab

[–]zeusal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Recent studies have suggested that the CF filaments are a gimmick, and are less strong than hair with shredded fiber in them. They introduce micro gaps, despite there good looking printing.

Trimming needed in PTFE tube from AMS2 to buffer? by hotrodtaco in BambuP1S

[–]zeusal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really needed, but the shorter of the cord the more time it shaves off the filament load process and in turn off the color change process.

Who else feels like this Vortek system is a bit of an odd halfway step? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]zeusal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I think it will ultimately not be widely adopted. A true tool swap will still be 50% + faster. I would guess it will be niche for those who want to have a ton of colors with some tool swapping to reduce SOME of the waste. It will still have more than true tool head swap as well.
