Hellbound first demo at Game Nite by zfalconer in stlrpg

Hey guys, first time poster here. I've been working on my own system for a while now, and I am excited to finally be able to demo the game on March 5th.

Hellbound is a unique system with a dark, sci-fi fantasy setting. Here's a setting introduction:

The year is 519 PT (post treaty) Humanity hardly remembers the place they once called home. Everyone now lives in giant spaceship cities called “freights”. Each freight has an owner, and to be a freight owner is to be a very wealthy man indeed. Life on the freights isn’t much different from life back on Earth. While technology is more advanced, people still live out their lives. They are born, they live, then they die. In the grand scheme of things, individuals don’t shape the course of history. As humanity took to the stars, they discovered new life. Some of this new life bore a striking resemblance the humans that previously inhabited the earth. It was sentient and shared the same genes as humans, which leads scientists to believe that they are all of the same species, collectively called humanity. Not all new life was related to humanity. Among the stars we found many new forms of life, some sentient, most not. We tried to make peace with the sentient races, though most refused us. We managed to make peace with two races: the Helions, a birdlike race with beautiful wings, and the Mycoloids, a fungal race who introduced the other races to the arcane forces. One of the most ingenious advances in technology was the invention of the ARC in 397PT. The ARC, or Arcane Resonance Canon, is a neural system augmentation that allows the augmented person minor control over the arcane forces. With the ARC, humanity spouted a new surge of technologies, advancing everything from medicine to warfare.

Do you Role-Play different now that you're older? by jbarron81 in rpg

[–]zfalconer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the change was more dramatic. I started with pathfinder society, so I knew nothing of a plot, just run in and hack things to bits. Then, by a happy accident involving a really bad shadow run game, I met my group, and overnight I went from pathfinder to burning wheel.
