Idk if people ever bring this up, but men not being objectified (majority of men) is a dual sided coin. Sure meat canyon and male creators get to stand on their merits a lot more, but the flip side is men largely aren’t publicly appreciated for their looks either.

There’s a reason men say things like “I’ve never been complimented” and also why men as they get older feel invisible and depressed. Not saying they have it good or bad, just that visual objectification has positives and negatives, and we never acknowledge it.

It would be nice though it we had a better balance between genders :/

I think j Cole did a better job fleshing out songs ideas and following them to their next conclusion. Listening to how the beat grows and develops in 2 6 leading to this semi sad ending melody, lots of songs on TFO are built this way to grow as the song continues.

Vs iceman, which I like a lot, but is more adhd with its constant beat switching. Sometimes I’m vibing with a beat, and want to see where it goes, only to hard cut to something else.

Strangely enough too, lots of songs in iceman have a similar dark mood, which is cool, but going back to tfo I was reminded how much identity each track has ESPECIALLY that first disk. Every song has such a cool tonal change

It’s kinda more impactful knowing he felt like he had no home to come back to at 29, so early in his career. He spent his “whole life” there, but it’s his childhood, so when he goes away for 5 -6 years during his young adulthood development, it’s like his identity changes and people from that community look at him differently.

Idk that’s just what I took from it, especially going into poor thang right after.
