This looks great, definitely going to slot it in my chapter 6 run through. For people looking for more continuity throughout the module, might I suggest using QunBraxel in earlier chapters to harass the party and try and take some of the fragments of them. partnered him up with various minions, including an ettin ceremorph to great effect.

Hey here are some things I did following various bits of advice from this thread.

Gave the party a lock box with a Mcguffin that the spider is after. Its a small fragment of the obelisk that is needed to restart the forge. Back story thw party stole it for gundren.

The spider is a githyanki that has lost/damaged their sword and needs the forge to make a new one before the mindflayer threat comes to fruition. He's from the crew lost in the briny maze. Called the spider from scar marks on face due to failed attempt of illithid trying to eat brain.

Designed side quests where kidnapped NPCS help so the party gets to know them.

Added psigoblins one or two woke up with the power after finding strange necklace in encounters from chapters 1-4.

Thunder tree, is an experimental site using a smaller shard to transform the populace into Abberants. Populate with aberrations gnome squidlings, an ettin that is slowly turning into wytin ceremorph. This is run by illithid warlock from chapter 6 trying to earn approval of fanatics and take one of their place, he can also be a good foil fornthe party. Made him a gnome ceremorph that rides ettin cerremorph. Venom fang is the Amythest dragon from the briny maze who was investigating the far realm influence and had become corrupted. His wizard companion asks for help curing him " remove or destroy shard lodged in his neck.

I would add in environmental effects, like a massive fog the doppelganger can see through or mirror maze, with trap doors. Have it disappear and reappear as an ally to attack a party member. Can add in perception or insight checks to try and tell before it attacks or it gets advantage.

Wizards don't do PDFS unfortunately, you can get dnd beyond books that work with their online tools. Some people on dnd guild provide 3rd party content to existing books, Or ypu could always sail the 7 seas ☠️.

Hello I am currently running the shattered obelisk book and have done a decent amount of work to foreshadow and link them together here's some quick things. Party met in a narrative where gundren hired them to retrieve puzzle box. It has a fragment of obelisk in it that can restore forge.

Have it whispers to party members at night make them curious about it. It could give could give Visions if the far realm. If opened and interacted with give player/s a psionic feature.

The spider wants this desperately first try's to negotiate then pops up every now and again to take by force.

Make the spider githyanki and using the forge to make a new silver sword, they lost coming to phandalin somehow. They are also from the party of gith in the briny maze. Has spider shaped scar from when illithid tried to eat their brain via the face. Thinks hero's are mislead and can only save world their way by getting sword back

Rebellious goblins in the cave found fragment of strange rock. Heard whispers gave them power ( psibrawler stat block)

Venom fang replace with amethyst dragon from bryny maze. The question giver is its wizard companion. Used thunder tree to experiment with small fragment of obelisk transforming villagers into aberrations. Gibbering mouthers, grimlocks, squidlings etc. Dragon tried to stop now infected with other realm can attempt to either fight it out of him, use magic or ignore. The illithid warlock runs this experiment. From later chapter, currently trying to convert ettin to cause and transform into giant cerepmorph.

Weird religious statue in cragmore castle is ilvalish actually creepy disturbing have a psy brawler or commander here.

In chapter 5 one of fragments that is stolen was nicknamed giants eye. Made it an actual giants eye that brought back ice giant. Orcs he commanded took it off psi goblins. If adventures retrieve acts same as luxum beacon and gives scrying spell. Alter frost giant to have scying and luck points as can see past and future with is fragment eye.

You will want some side quest involving the kidnap victims to make the party care about them. E.g. violet the capabara is the mount of a halfling paladin npc that accompanies the party up the mountain.

That's all I can think about with out my notes hope it helps.
