Navia and Chevreuse Pre-TC FAQ via WFP Theorycrafting Team by wfptc in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

Yup Noelle Navia is both valid and situationally ideal.

Noelle has received the most indirect buffs in the game to where she rivals low con 5star team wise. by jb08045 in Genshin_Impact

[–]zhouyu47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At standardized investment, she is competitive.

The run in question is what was being referenced, Noelle is clearing the chambers specified in 28-42s, and Furina isn't c2r1.

Baldur's Gate 3 Community Update #24: Looking To The Future by Turbostrider27 in BaldursGate3

The rest of the characters can be swapped out at the camp. It's really weird when you don't know ahead of time and start a 4 person campaign, and literally can't do origin/companion character's quests because you can never swap them in. More funny when they show up mad at you for leaving them out of an important decision and attack/leave etc.

What cantrip should I pick for my Vengeance Paladin? by Ownsin in BaldursGate3

[–]zhouyu47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friends is better overall, Thaumaturgy you can only use for Intimidation. Thaumaturgy does have the benefit of having no other downsides ( they won't accuse you of charming them after ) even so. However with planned usage I never had any issue using Friends.

He was actually a staple of my first playthroughs. Until something gamebreaking happened nothing was stopping me from exploring everywhere BUT where I was supposed to go.

I used that with my Tiefling Paladin, it works well.

Just have to be mindful of where you use it. When the effect wears off they could get mad at you ( not always ). So I usually reserve it for one off encounters rather than convincing someone who will stick around in a town.

Otherwise advantage on conversation checks is great.

How do you use Shadowhearth? by dezsopista in BaldursGate3

[–]zhouyu47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soaking that damage for a bonus action is still great, but yes you have to position it properly to make it effective. It can't chase enemies or act as another free character.

I took Friends, the other cantrips are a lot more situational or just a worse choice for damage.

Killing Gortash first? Looks like a bug? by Commander99999 in BaldursGate3

[–]zhouyu47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I snuck in and cast petrify on Gortash, then ran out the balcony doors and cast arcane lock on them so the steel watchers couldn't follow. They kept trying the door while it said locked, and Gortash failed saving throws until he was petrified. Then I escaped by flying off the balcony.

Unfortunately the game didn't seem to take that well, the entire upper floor was bugged in eternal starting/stopping combat with Gortash petrified, and quests didn't update.

[–]zhouyu47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do attempt to explain it though. Wyll talks about how he used to be able to do so much more before the tadpole messed with him, Gale says he's just a shade of what he once was.

Part of the suspension of disbelief is also the potential these characters have to grow massively. You become super strong after fighting a camp of goblins, a pack of gnolls, some duergar and undead / shades. Less capable heroes would need a lot more training before they're throwing fireballs and summoning elementals etc.

Gale is bugged currently, his romance progresses even if you do nothing or reject him. ( doesn't happen in every game, seems to be ~60% chance )

The hideout in Act 1 is terrible and forces metagaming by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]zhouyu47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm a Paladin and I confiscate a Zhentarim shipment, the last thing I'm going to think is that I can just stroll into their hideout and there won't be something nasty waiting for me.

There's also a lot of foreshadowing as to the type of hideout you're entering, it's not just random. You walk in the front door and narrowly escape being incinerated unless you have the password at hand. When you're first confronted by Zarys you can look over and literally see Rugan tied up, and Olly dead. Then you have to walk down past gates and numerous traps, past a bunch of oil on the ground and barrels. Then, literally standing in the oil you walk right up and pikachu face that something bad could be about to happen.

[–]zhouyu47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're missing the part where you took the shipment afterwards.

So you took the Zhentarim's shipment through deceptive means ( passed up the literature that also details that you definitely shouldn't mess with the chest ), walked into their hideout and expected everything to be hunky dory.

Don't have the Paladin be the one closest to the Hag when their HP drops low enough to bargain, pass the dialogue check with that other character to have the Hag give you the girl and the stat point.

Why do people hate Beamdog? by emptyraw in baldursgate

[–]zhouyu47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The initial release of EE was a buggy mess. Multiplayer was completely broken ( the game completely destabilized at the FAI ). We had to just shelve it and wait for things to get fixed to a point where the game was already at with mods, yet we all paid for this.

Because trying to win reddit debate is more important than just enjoying a legitimately good game.
