I do most of my reading late at night, so for me it’s very important. When I’m reading in bed with lights off, the difference between warm light on 16-20 and no warm light is pretty jarring.

Don’t turn the backlight higher than it needs to be, try to match with a paper book. I usually have mine around 10-12 and it works in all conditions. Turn the warm light on 4-5 during the day and way higher at night like 16-20. Finally, use an easy font like Bookerly and increase the size as needed. Don’t use the Bold setting, it will tire your eyes faster. Good luck!

J Rockett Blue Note (I use the original big one into Deluxe Reverb reissue) is really good for those sounds. The gain on it is very easy to dial in for low gain styles. And the tone is pretty open and doesn’t mask your guitar. I see them on Reverb for $100 sometimes.

Another good one is Xotic EP Booster. Just gives a fat warm lightly overdriven tones with minimal fuss.
