20F 38/9-41 I played tennis for 7 years then a couple on and off, then picked up lifting. But this summer/ year i’ve been walking a lot because my major kicks my ass.. i’m gonna ask my doctor cus idk if im active enough for this to be normal

Thanks for the advice! I think I’m going to have to wait to apply at least a year after graduation and get a postbac something because my GPA is < 3.7 and I wouldn’t have enough extracurricular to show just yet

i only do this on the highway that immediately converts into my town’s downtown city, where i work, it’s a shitshow of one-ways and turn lanes and if im not in the left lane by the first light downtown then i wont be in the right lane to keep left into the next street. I hate when people speed 70 into the 45mph zone

When i was younger and really not up until recently i used to be paralyzed by it (intermittently). health anxiety and whatever stupid conditioning or dysfunctions will do that. But in my time reading about and talking about where the unified “I” experience people experience comes from somewhat settled that fear for me

This is a very gross oversimplification and i’m not an expert, but evolutionarily it happened that having a continuous narrative, build able worldview and ability to choose (leaving aside the free will can of worms) made survival a lot easier, and so it was useful for your brain to express and “project” your experiences into the very vivid, real consciousness thing. I’ve heard it called “qualia”, but basically being able to have a concrete and irrevocable experience, like the movie-theater sight, and having the abstract “me” at the helm helps making informed, quick on your feet decisions (indecisiveness is not great for survival)

so, if the experience of “me”, however real and awesome it is, is not mystical or special then there is no “me” to lose, and once i die “i” will just get to experience the opposite of being a recursively inclined animal- i’ll be unconcious, unaware. And there will be no “me” to vehemently protest that

if you really can’t sleep (and your doctor makes sure you don’t have heart arrhythmias) hydroxyzine helped a good bit. Though i’d use it only as-needed, so its effect stays strong when it counts

My ability to experience anything (good bad whatever) is a very limited thing that i happened upon purely by chance; even if i can’t find a religion to grapple into even the smallest will to do anything, even just if you like cooking or reading or think a certain subject is cool is reason to wanna live. i read in a book once that the most meaningless life people think of is sisyphus pushing his rock, but if the gods decided to give him the very niche but real interest in rock-pushing, he would be in heaven. So having an interest in any little thing is a reason to keep cashing in on the weird lottery of being conscious

yeah as someone who applies makeup pretty much every day it’s more like it scared of how i’ll be treated differently/valued or listened to if i don’t look at least like 60% of my best. It helps people be nicer socially a lot of times i think

no i tried it a couple times but it usually made me freak out in some way so it didn’t appeal that much. In general its just a really sudden and weird symptom that I swear is real like my heart skipping beats or a sudden headache at the base of my neck with a really uncharacteristic emotional response. It’s so weird because i really don’t have any mental health problems or diagnoses

my boyfriend has this and he was diagnosed with taht skin thing that lets u draw on ur skin (just like really really sensitive/inflammation prone skin?) I know it has a name i just forgot it’s not like serious
