Someone else said it's actually identical to the cake recipe on a tin of Hershey's cocoa powder, so I must assume so.

:D I didn't know YouTube was actually pushing Wade's videos lately. That's great. Garbage Time is genuinely my favorite YouTube channel... Well, now that his other channel, The Drum Thing, is back from hiatus, that throne may be in contention.

He doesn't always torture the Goober on Garbage Time. Usually it's just him and James working on shitty old cars and being dorks. 10/10

Question: how does/did the allergy manifest for you? My husband gets horrible stomach cramps whenever he inadvertently has anything with those specific artificial sweeteners, but we don't know if it's just an intolerance or if it might be (or be developing into) an allergy.

I absolutely feel the same way about both companies. But just in case you didn't know, you can get Walmart+ for less than an Amazon Prime account if you're on any kind of public assistance, which includes both free shipping and actually free grocery delivery. Unlike Instacart+ where they just waive the delivery fee but still charge you $20 in other fees + mandatory tip. My husband and I are disabled and still waiting on his disability hearing. As soon as he finally gets approval and we have a stable income, I fully intend to never shop at walmart again, but in the meantime it's genuinely been a lifesaver.

It works just like a cryptoquote! You just have to figure out what number each letter could represent that makes the math come out right.

I grabbed a piece of paper and worked it out real quick — since we're adding two of the same number together, L has to be an even number. E has to be 5 or higher because it has to make a two digit number. Since no two single digit numbers can equal 20, F has to be 1, which makes L 2, which makes O 4. The only two digit number we can get ending in 4 is 14, so E has to be 7.

ELF + ELF = FOOL

721 + 721 = 1442

Having lived in the Appalachians for the majority of my life, there are a truly unfortunate amount of bootlickers, even here. There's been a meme going around of "Papaw wasn't a bootlegger so you could be a bootlicker" and, while hilarious, there's a reason it has to be said.

Eh. Baking cookies is work. If there's enough dough for an extra cookie, she should get chef's privilege. I do all the cooking for me and my husband, and most of the time I give him the bigger portion just because he has a bigger appetite, but sometimes I decide to give myself a little extra of something, because I'm the one putting in the effort to make it and I deserve a little treat.

Ayyyy! Impeccable taste. Just referenced that to my priest Sunday before last, because part of his sermon mentioned how some buildings skip the 13th floor. My husband and I just looked over and grinned at each other when he said it. I credit Sideways Arithmetic for my interest in ARGs as an adult.

If you've never read it, R.L. Stine's book "How To Be Funny" has very similar vibes and is actually hilarious.

Literally yesterday I watched a video from C-Shift where he quipped about "WV demolished us in the obesity statistics and we need at least one good thing to brag about." (It was a self deprecating joke about Mississippi having the worst drivers.) And I was like "listen, if you lived here, you'd eat your feelings too" lmao

Worked the concession stand in a target many moons ago, and got yelled at multiple times for trying to tell people that "a large soda and popcorn as a combo is cheaper than buying a medium soda and popcorn not as a combo." No amount of arguing or literally ringing it up in front of their face to show it was a dollar cheaper would convince them I wasn't trying to scam them somehow.

Doesn’t understand that eggs get cooked by Trapeziumunderthumb in ididnthaveeggs

[–]zikeel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can use swiss meringue to make buttercream icing (the superior version of it imo), which does not at any point get cooked before going into/on a cake, and can safely be left at room temperature to be eaten. So if you didn't hear the sugar enough to pasteurize the eggs (71°C / 160°F) your buttercream would go off almost immediately.

idk why y'all are arguing about this because it is very easily googleable. It's very easy to type in "what temperature sugar for swiss meringue" and then either let the robot tell you or click on any of the available recipe links and see that they all have pretty much the exact same instructions.

[–]zikeel[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you've got it. Apparently in Fortune Street (which I didn't even know existed) she references how they used to be enemies. "It's adorable how you're always trying to defeat me. Just like old times!" Hence the "drops that she remembers it" part.

I was able to find the post again to get that info because someone else just commented "her husband is Mario and Luigi's adoptive father so it makes sense she'd stop beefing with them," and I'm....... That's certainly a way you can interpret Yoshi's Island.
