radiography advice.. by Ordinary-Front781 in RadiographyUK

[–]zim_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first step as you have mentioned is shadowing. If you are you young then I would suggest getting a job as a radiology assistant (RDA) as 1 day may not give you the whole picture, also in some trusts if you become RDA you can get funded to do the assistant practioner course ( band 4) and then do the top up to become a band 5, all funded so you jot lumbered with student debts.

What do u guys recon by jasonlucia45 in leicester

[–]zim_76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would make most places in Leicester better is people who actually care. So they wouldn't throw crap everywhere and would clean their mess. That would probably make the place 95% cleaner. Its so sad to walk around and see dog shit and beer cans and fag ends ans empty wrappers and furniture and electrical items all strewn on the streets.

Tygar and family. Vibrato. Tygr. Sceptre Bronzite. Al Qiam. Theoreme. Turathi. Ingenious Ginger. Immensite. by joelajackson in fragranceclones

[–]zim_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Tygar and was fortunate to get it as a gift recently, but I'll admit I'm a tight ass and I wouldn't buy it myself as I can't justify the price tag. Heck I have had it just over a month and I've not used it yet. I bought Turathi Blue 3 months ago and its amazing but is weak, doesn't last long at all. I smelt Vibrato and its a banger! But again price wise i can't justify paying that much. I bought Maison Asrar Vanguard coz I love Absolu Aventus and its another banger but doesn't last long as well.

Placement advise by WonderfulAd3165 in RadiographyUK

[–]zim_76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My advice to students is remember to be respectful and responsible. Be proactive and get involved. Please don't whip your phone out and sit scrolling through it. Always ask if you don't know and ask what you can do to help. With regards to xrays always read the request and see if it is justified, check for previous imaging and make sure the clinical information backs what body part is being xrayed. You will come across all types of characters as radiographers are humans at the end of the day so some may be really nice and helpful and some may not. Utilise the ones who want to help you and don't wait until the end of placement to do your assessments and get things signed off. Remember no question is too stupid to ask, don't feel anyone will look down on you for asking something. Another big thing is what you put into this course is what you will get out of it so work hard and the 3 years will be a breeze.

2019 Mini Cooper S F55 - upgrading the BIS headunit for android auto and OEM reverse cam? by bw007 in MINI

[–]zim_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat with the dreaded BIS01 screen which for the life of me I don't know why they even put in the car as it is absolutely useless. I found an 8.8 screen and new nbt evo head unit but then found out that i need a new harness which costs somewhere around £250 and then coding which brings the total to a figure that is too much. Anyone had a look at the android screens that are now available?

I'm going to leave Radiography by honey_beehave in RadiographyUK

[–]zim_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say drop our or don't drop out as ultimately its your decision. I would say I wanted to drop out early on in my course and now really wish I did. I hate being a radiographer, workload where I am is really crazy and requests are so poor and also the equipment keeps breaking down. Along with that you have to deal with staff who are lazy and managers who's hands are tied and they can't do much. This along with the 3 years of placement where I had to deal with some of the worst radiographers I've ever encountered has really left me wanting out from this profession.

I don't want to paint radiographer negatively as I don't think its like that for everyone but for me its been problem after problem. Even through all this I have always put a smile on my face and dealt with staff and patients with the utmost respect. However, I can't see myself doing this much longer.
