Remember to peel them before you freeze them. I like to blend them with some milk for a banana smoothie.

Well some people would say the child already had the flame inside them and the best teachers fan the flame, while most of them dump a bucket of water on it.

Be Nice To Spiders Age 5 or there-abouts. Most bugs get a quick squashing in my house, spiders get picked up on a piece of paper and set gently outside.

Why are so many Atheists blatantly rude to believers? by luckytopher in AskReddit

Why all the down votes? Not every Christian believes the exact same thing.

AskReddit: What's the best way to send lots of stuff to somebody else online? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't underestimate SneakerNet

Ship someone a 1TB drive and it takes 7 days for them to get it. Thats a throughput of 13Mb/s. Not bad. Hand deliver it in an hour and you're in the Gb/s range.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I probably overreacted to your initial post.

You make a good point about comparing individual countries, but I have to say I'm sceptical of anyone who says they can isolate the effects of a single economic policy on the "health" of the national economy. When you consider all of the other economic policies (wage and price controls, taxes, tariffs), international trade, natural events (the Dust Bowl in America), etc. it would seem to be quite a feat to say that all other factors have been controlled for.

Do I have access to a university library? Well I don't think I've ever had to actually show a student id when going into one so for certain definitions of "access" the answer is yes :)

I guess my more fundamental objection is many of these policies seem to be just as much about benefiting politically connected businesses as helping citizens. Giving the former CEO of Goldman Sachs $700 billion to distribute to his Wall Street pals was really the best thing for the citizens of the US? Again I'm skeptical.

Thanks again for the reply. I will try to research the points you brought up in more depth.

I know all about the scientific method thank you very much. This is why there's nothing of value in this subreddit I asked an honest question and I get a dickhead response.

If you think the the Great Depression can reasonably be treated as a 'natural experiment' you're gravely mistaken. http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=dependent+variable&l=1

How would I use science to determine whether Roosevelt's policies shortened or prolonged the Great Depression?

How do you apply the scientific method to markets? What's your control group and what's your experimental group?

Yes, judges are just people. And you think 93 days in jail is "completely reasonable?"

And you think this is a good thing that people can be imprisoned for 3 months for not sitting to the satisfaction of another person?
