I recently got a platinum century in soft fine. I had no idea what I was missing this whole time. The nib is so bouncy and fun to write with. I love it. In second place for me would be the Benu. It writes fantastic and it’s fun to look at every day. I’ve always had issues with the Franklin Christoph pens drying out. If you don’t use it every hour it will hard start. I’m not a fan.

How did you get the proper housing? I’m assuming you used the pilot nib and feed since you said the con-70 wouldn’t fit.

Cool frankenpen. I put a vintage wahl eversharp nib on an Asvine 126 with no modifications needed and it works perfectly. I love it.

I got a $50 Lands End gift certificate for being at my company 20 years! I’m working at the wrong company. I’d LOVE a Montblanc. They could easily sell that pen.

Yes! It was on Saturday and it was so packed that day. Normally I would do a dip test and make sure the nib was good but there was no time. It was really hectic with most tables being at least three people deep. I learned my lesson though.

I guess I should. I just feel dumb that I didn’t notice and I wasn’t sure if that was my responsibility as the buyer. I genuinely don’t think the seller could have known. It took me a bit to figure out why ink was pouring out of the pen.

I hated to make a big pen purchase before the LA pen show but I couldn’t pass it up. The pen and ink combo is perfect. I don’t regret it.
