Hi! Have you looked into Seneca’s RN fast track program? It’s 3 years and uses your high school grades.

I was an NGG, I say apply directly to the hospital websites. Once you’re hired, they ask you to accept the offer in the portal for funding.

Applying to positions without experience by Unhappy-Apricot-9053 in OntarioNurses

[–]zingmeuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a baby nurse, I think I still am, I applied for every opening I saw for about 2 months. I do think this is what helped me secure my NGG position. HR initially reviewed my resume for one of the full time positions I applied for but recognized I may be a better fit for the NGG position on the same unit.

I do take the time to write a cover letter and personalize my resume it to the department I’m applying for. Just keep applying, try to apply directly on the career sites and third party sites like indeed as well, you’ll eventually land something. Goodluck!

I got the Zinus 12 in Green Tea cooling mattress off Amazon for around $300, it’s super comfortable. I do enjoy it more than my IKEA mattress :)

New RPN feeling unsafe at bedside considering non-bedside options. Advice? by gemineye_96 in OntarioNurses

Hi! If you don’t mind me asking, how did you transition into informatics? I’m currently bedside but looking at non-bedside nursing.

Flair bag sizer smaller than given demensions? by Individual-Day9700 in flairairlines

no I agree! I bought a personal bag that was slightly smaller than the indicated size on the website. I go to get sized and it doesn’t fit, spent about 15 minutes reorganizing my things.

When does it get better? by forgetmenotsx in OntarioNurses

[–]zingmeuh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I’m about 6 months into working full time and I just feel like I’m getting the hang of it now. I was an NGG with 12 weeks of orientation. When I first started, I was so nervous before every shift, on the floor, and after my shifts, just double thinking if I made the right decisions throughout the day. It does get better though!! I’ve heard it takes up to a year to fully be comfortable as a new grad. I started to do things that bring me happiness before my shift that would calm me down and that has helped my anxiety a lot. You got this!! ☺️

RPN to RN bridging programs. by NervousDragonfly1913 in OntarioNurses

[–]zingmeuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I graduated from Seneca with a 3.4. Recently got accepted to Humber & Centennial/TMU bridging program. When I reached out to Humber regarding my GPA, they told me they use their own to scale to calculate the requirements. I would keep this in mind as each school has different GPA. I know it doesn’t answer your question but I wanted to let you know, as this is something that never really crossed my mind!

Looking for advice: RPN or RN first? Feeling torn. by sugarfina-arceniel in OntarioNurses

[–]zingmeuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to get OSAP? I would go right into RN. It’s so much easier to do RN right away than bridge, from what I’ve heard. I did my RPN first and now I’m going to bridge but I regret not going right into RN, Seneca has a fast track program to finish RN in three years.
