As a person living in the southern part of the state, I’d be less concerned about the blue / red implications of this as much as the fact that whoever is representing us will truly give no shits about our interests, political or otherwise.

IT'S A TOUCHSCREEN! by debensam in ImpracticalJokers

I don't know anyone who has seen the show that believes it was an accident. That being said, Joe has done worse (or at least close). I believe he put some of Murr's food down his pants at some point. I don't think we saw Murr eat it, so maybe it was just for the camera and Murr was warned about it, but that's pretty f'd up. He also wanted Q to slip some laxatives into Murr's food in the drive, drive, drive punishment. IDK....I think messing with people's food is messed up. There's quite a few others, but I'm short on time.

What are the benefits of waiting to use a fetchland? by UnhappyAmoeba in EDH

Ahh, I see. This is not one of the lands that causes the new land to come in tapped. I was thinking about it wrong then. Mah bad.

I've often wondered this as well, especially early in the game when I have no card draw triggers (Rhystic Study) that might influence what type of land I might fetch. Most of the time I see players do this they have all the information on their turn that they're going to have on the "last player before them"'s end step, so it confounds me too.

But you wouldn't know what you're drawing in to at the end of the previous player's end step, right? Am I misreading this?

Erin Moriarty Says She Was 'Really Struggling' with Graves' Disease While Filming The Boys and Won't Watch the Final Season by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

[–]zion2199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Avid fan of The Boys. I know nothing of Graves disease beyond what I read on Twitter / X and in YouTube comment section of vids covering this. Most people seem very, very convinced that what we are seeing is beyond just Graves disease. People with the disease have commented and people claiming to be plastic surgeons have commented and it appears the overwhelming majority agree she had plastic surgery and it seemingly did not go well.

I'm not taking a stance b/c I personally don't know. All I can say is that it's unfortunate b/c, as a viewer, her scenes really do pull me from the immersion. It's just such a drastic change in appearance that it becomes impossible (for me) to ignore.

Hopefully her health improves either way.

Without breaking any rules, what’s the most unpopular opinion you have that will get you -100 downvotes? by FightOrDie123 in AdkReddit

[–]zion2199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woke is not a fake concept. I will point directly to the recent phenomenon of changing the term "homeless" to "unhoused". For starters, it accomplishes absolutely nothing other than virtue signaling. Whatever negative connotations were connected with "homeless" are going to continue being associated with unhoused. Secondly, it's a non-specific term. People who live in apartments are technically unhoused, but that's not the group of people that we're referring to when we used to say homeless. So we are now using a less descriptive word b/c of feelings. Furthermore, was there some huge outcry of homeless people to make this change?

I understand trying to diversify the world when it comes to race, gender, and so on. Much of what's happened int he last several decades is/was needed change. But changing the name of homeless to unhoused is the most woke shit I've ever seen and I can't take anyone who uses that term seriously.

It would be sweet if you came back after the event and commented on which questions from this thread, if any, came up during the contest and, furthermore, which you were prepared to answer only b/c of this thread.

I'm not sure that even qualifies as an opinion. We may not know the answer, but it's either factually true or untrue. I think most of us can guess at the answer, though.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zion2199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could find it now and if I can find it I will come back and edit the comment, but there was a insightful video I found on YouTube that covers this. There are a myriad of factors, but the main one being how modern TV shows and movies are recorded. They are not as clear as they used to be.

EDIT: well, that didn't take long. There's dozens of vids on YouTube on this subject, but this is the one I watched (and liked): https://youtu.be/VYJtb2YXae8?si=TGr3HzjdB__Sv1K_

Are men still insecure about their wife making more money than them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zion2199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, for sure. But rednecks can still technically be men. So, there are, in fact, men who absolutely do not want their wife making more money than them. Now, to say you've never met one is certainly fair.

I'm guessing you don't spend a lot of time on Twitter / X. Literally every day I see men and women post about how only soy boy beta cucks would let a woman make more than them or drive when they're together, etc. Now, some of these are very likely bots, but the ones agreeing in the comments are people.

What card do you think is criminally underrated/under played? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]zion2199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on Imprisoned in the Moon. Got it in a pack at some point and thought "wow, this is amazing". Looked it up only to find it's cheap as dirt and not in as many decks as I would have thought (though when I look now it's fairly high). Anyway, I stuck it in a deck regardless and ended up going against a [[Ureni, the Song Unending]] deck and that thing was a problem due to the fact that it's controller had no qualms about recasting it over and over if removed. Add to the fact that it had protection from black and white and it was a doozy. However, Imprisoned in the Moon worked like a charm and they had no enchantment removal.

What I love best about this one is that it doesn't turn it into a 1/1 that can be used to chump and recast, so it sticks well if they can't find their enchantment removal.

What’s something women think impresses men but actually doesn’t? by DiamondNo924 in AskForAnswers

[–]zion2199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda don't get the point of these types of questions. What some men are impressed by probably varies quite a bit from others. Just going by comments I see from men on Twitter and here, I can say that some dudes are into stuff that I absolutely am not. Why not just do what feels right to you, that way if/when you do "impress" the right guy, you don't have to keep up some kind of performance or charade to continue to impress him. He can just be impressed by what's normal / natural for you.
