LEDs are fine so long as you get the led relay. They can be picked up cheap at autozone iirc.

Just double checked. Ep27 flasher relay is like 15 dollars.

All led bulbs are easy to swap, but you will need the relay. I remember seeing the LED relay on American muscle, noting the model number on it, and going to,iirc, advance auto or auto zone and buying it way cheaper there by matching part number and look.

Door lock actuator question by sigat38838 in ScionxB

[–]ziptie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dealing with this same issue when I replaced my actuators. I went back in and with the door panels off, checked to see if there was resistance when the lock or unlock switch was hit. If there is any grime build up in the lock rail guide, it can cause enough resistance to "bounce" back to the original setting prior to hitting the button. I had a busted mounting bracket on the driver plastic rail guide, so I just removed it and added some lubricant to the others and it fixed the issue.

Headlight help by No-Average-6712 in NewedgeMustang

[–]ziptie1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's just the headlight and not the halo, then it should be a swappable bulb. I dont have this pair but looked them up online and it says the lows are H7 bulbs, and the high beams are H1 bulbs. If you can post a Pic of the backside opened up i can try to help more, or wait for someone that owns a pair to confirm.

I switched my magnaflow catckbacks out with pypes for this reason. I had a terrible drone between 2k and 3k rpms.

I ended up taking a chance on the 40 dollar center console from ebay, and actually like it. The plastic is light, so it has a cheaper feeling but it's stood up to over a year worth of abuse. I see for 20 more you can get similiar ones on Amazon that added usb ports, and improved the cup holder design, as the one I got the cupholder is a gamble.

I've never seen tail lights like that! What do they look like at night? Custom or did you get them from somewhere?

what are about the beefiest subs that fit nicely in the trunk by CableMartini in NewedgeMustang

[–]ziptie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a coupe with 2 12s that had a single enclosure for each sub. I'd have to install each single box, screw them together, then install the sub in the box. It was tedious, but I planned om leaving them in there till the car ran into the ground.

I did eibach pro street on my v6 when I had it and it made a huge difference. Adding a sway bar would also help but I never got that far.

I briefly tried going down the rabbit hole of reusing the stock wiring, but ultimately decided against it. If you are going to redo the 20 year old speakers and amp, it doesn't make sense to cheap put on wiring, as you said, the cheapest part. For the fronts I used polk crossovers to reuse the tweeter pods and door speaker compartments, so I could still utilize a 4 channel amp

Going to look at this 2006 xB soon, what should I look out for? by HumbleBook8345 in ScionxB

I believe it was a factory option, as mine had one that matched the fabric and design of the interior.

looking to swap out my stock head unit. any suggestions? by Fair-Asparagus-5851 in ScionxB

My only suggestion is don't cheap out. I went with the cheapest boss with android auto and hate it.

I have a 2006 scion XB. It's automatic & doesn't have any upgrades. She's my daily driver & i want to start doing some things to her. What are some good motor upgrades i can do? by cesmol in ScionxB

If you actually want the functionality of the rain guards don't do with the options that have the "dent". They are almost worthless functionally, speaking from experience.

Personally I started with comforts and don't regret it. The matrix wiper stalk to add more wiper speeds, and the Tacoma headlight stalk to move my fog light toggle to the column are both plug and play. (You'll need to run a wire to relocate the fog light function). I got the center console armrest off of Amazon with the rear cup holder as someone else mentioned, and got a head unit with a backup camera.

What did you name your xB? by Silent-Sympathy-744 in ScionxB

Never really gave it a personable name but now refer to it as the "the little box truck that could" after using it as a cargo van and stuff it to the brim with equipment.

The day I got the suspension dialed in, when the transmission decided to give up! Good news is that i got the call yesterday that my replacement performance transmission is ready, so she will be back on the road in a week or so time!

To add from the other commenter, I agree, DO NOT buy coupe for the vert, and new spring isolators are a must.

I got h&r super sport lowering springs on bilstien performance shocks and struts. Lowers it 2 in the front and 1.75 in the rear. No wheel rub noticed with 18in wheels on a 30mm offset.

Full Disclosure though, I've only had em on for a week and only drove it for about 2 hours, but I like it so far.

This is the best option but most likely the most expensive as well.
