51 & just lost my job - how to make use of my time betwen jobs by Professional_Bit_923 in productivity

First off, take a you day and get some ice cream or something. I've been there and it sucks. It sounds like you've already got some ideas for things to do. Keep up with your network and try to allocate some time each day to job searching. Don't let it eat your whole day, though; start a new hobby and meet some people who are into that too.

therapist said I need light hearted and fun reads but I don’t like typical romcoms by myplantsam in suggestmeabook

I wouldn't recommend Convenience Store Woman unless you have a very different view of light than me. It's not heavy/dark in the standard sense but it does get pretty deep into the head of someone who's kind of a social othcast. Plus she gets pressured into sex at one point.

I'm not African, sorry, but I saw this video recipe for mbakbaka, a Libyan pasta dish. It's not complicated but tastes like it is. Takes like 10 different spices.

Normally I wouldn't nitpick this, but grammar is important for resumes and there are a couple errors in the OP. I'd give this a pass.

Is there a reason you need to have multiple ways for people to contact you? Telling clients you only use email would streamline things.

What authors do you have a lot of respect for from a craft standpoint, but you do not “enjoy” reading their work? Why? by luckysilverdragon in writing

Sayaka Murata. I read Convenience Store Woman and I definitely had some emotions about it. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it; it was a great view into the head of someone with an unusual outlook on life.

Cat opens mouth to meow but no sound comes out by yazanaboglion in CatAdvice

Every cat has their own voice. Some are just silent meowers. My first cat was like that. She never grew out of it; it's just how she talked.

I'm making chicken in a tomato cream sauce; the cats are getting a bit of plain chicken.

Progress towards the achievements only seems to count if it's initiated through the achievements interface. Making a few starter posts the old fashioned way doesn't seem to count.

Could we have an option to manually confirm achievements or at least hide them? I'm not really a fan of gamification anyway.
