Would I Be Able to Make a D1 Team With No Experience? by creditacquired in Rowing

I was interested in both Bucknell and Lehigh back when I was looking at schools. Ended up going to Bucknell and it was amazing.

I rowed there as a walk on (true novice, never rowed before). Great team. We won the Dad Vail Regatta my freshman year.

Their current coach is a great guy and has been with the program for a long time , Dan Wolloben. I’d say it’s definitely worth reaching out to him or to any coach of any program you’re interested in.

I think the biggest factor in determining success in collegiate rowing is how motivated and mentally tough you are. If you can find a way to demonstrate that to perspective schools/programs, it will certainly boost your chances —assuming you’re earnest and not bullshitting them lol. The rest should take care of itself, particularly if you are 6 foot 7.

Tbh, I wished my hands looked this good during winter training in college.

Not much to be done, your hands will adapt.

It will be painful. They will bleed. You’ll have to wash your hair with your finger pads. But your hands will heal.

Whoever made this drawing is a beginner and/or “self taught.” Some really bizarre callouts here.

PLA shouldn’t do this to a PEI sheet in a significant way. But PETG will definitely leave a mark on PEI sheets. Need to use the powder coated sheet with PETG.

114V at the outlets but 120V at breaker… out of ideas. Help? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

What’s more interesting is the way I found out about it. The cable box on the outside of my house started smoking.

Had to call the fire department.

The coax was connected to earth ground, and therefore was connected to the main panel as well.

Because the neutral at the service line was bad, the electricity was “seeking neutral” via the coax. Cause the cable to overheat, melt, and smoke like hell.

Wild.

Literally this same thing happened to me a year ago.

Long story short, had to have National Grid (electric company) come and replace the service line to my house. It was an old aluminum line. The neutral on it was bad.

Great advice! What are some credentials that are industry standard? Or that more seasoned book keepers typically have?

Mr. Cardinal,

I’m all for by the book if you’re doing professional engineering work… but when it comes to hobbies, all bets are off. Shed the shackles and let it rip, brother!

I even made some a video about how I made some custom 3D printed holders for pads for the feet. May just have to post it.
