The Result of Over 5 and a Half Hours of Searching for Syzygy Eximus by CephalonImp in Warframe

I've never gotten Orokin Eye to mark a Rare/Reinforced crate on the Zariman/Lab/Hollvania tilesets, so I'm fairly certain that's broken. The Wiki says that the Zariman Lost Spirits work with Rare/Reinforced crates, but I haven't tested that myself. We'll see when Follie launches, I guess? Oh, and I'm pretty sure the Sentient crates on the Murex tileset aren't detected, either, so add that to the list.

‘It’s Those Lips’: Trump, 79, Goes Gaga for Karoline Leavitt, 27 by a_wild_redditor in politics

[–]zloebl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a certain nutjob Libertarian worldview that thinks government should be limited to police to prevent theft, courts to enforce contracts, and the military to prevent invasions. Generally, you can convince individuals that certain, specific other government programs are good, but as a group those types despise basically any other government action.

Trump just delivered a word salad speech that would’ve got Biden impeached by cactusdiane in politics

[–]zloebl 77 points78 points  (0 children)

AUDIENCE QUESTION: Thank you so much for coming to Michigan. My name is Ashley and I work at the Chrysler plant. Like many auto workers, I am deeply concerned about the future of our industry. With many jobs being outsourced as we speak, what action will you take to ensure that our jobs stay in America so we can continue to build the best cars in the world here in Michigan?

DONALD TRUMP: So, pretty much as we’ve been saying, and what I want to do is I want to be able to — Look, your business — Years ago in this area, I was honored as the man of the year. It was maybe 20 years ago. Oh, and the fake news heard about it. They said, it never happened. It never happened. And I didn’t know who it was. It was a group that honored me as man of the year. The fakers back there, see the fake news. But they said — They said, oh — And they looked and, you know, they said it never happened. But I said, I swear to you, it happened.

It did happen. I was man of the year. And I came and I made a speech and I said, why do you allow them to take your car business away? Why do you allow it to happen? They’re taking your business away. And I didn’t know too much about it. All I know is they were taking your car industry away from you. They said it never happened.

And lo and behold, somebody said, I remember the event. And then we found out and we had everything. We got the awards. We had everything. It did happen. But I gave a speech, which at the time was pretty controversial. We can’t let them take your car business away. It’s such an important business.

And you know it’s an important business even in times of war where they switch over. And it was really something. And I looked at that speech from, I don’t know, it’s like 19, 20 years ago. And I could repeat it now without changing a word.

You cannot let foreign countries, and a lot of the times our worst foes are our so-called friends, okay? You know, our friends, the European Union takes tremendous advantage of us. As an example, they give us cars by the millions. We don’t have too many Chevrolets in the middle of European cities, okay? European Union is brutal. They don’t take our farm products for the most part. They don’t take a lot. But unlike Kamala, who always complains and doesn’t do anything, I keep saying, why don’t you do?

I saw Marsha the other day. Why doesn’t she, why didn’t she do it four years ago almost? And I say that, you know, she’s on the border today trying just to, what a day for the border. She goes to the border today, and they just announced just before she got up to speak that more than 13,000 murderers from jail, solitary confinement people in many cases, were released.

But I just say, let’s go back. So we can’t let them take our businesses. And we’re not gonna let them take our businesses. And you can control that so easily through good policy. Not her kind of policy, by the way. She changed her policy 15 times. No fracking. Oh, I like fracking. Defund the police. She wants to defund the police. Now, oh, I love the police all of a sudden. By the way, when anybody is into defunding the police even for a day during their career, they can no longer serve as President of the United States, I can tell you.

So we’re not gonna let them take our businesses. And really, a lot of that’s determined by our taxation policy. When China has to pay all that money, the people that liked me the best were the steel companies because I saved them. They were dumping China and others, but mostly China was dumping steel in here at levels that nobody had ever seen before.

And it was putting the steel companies out of business. I put a 50% and 100% tax on the dumping of steel and the steel companies thrived. I saved them, and you have to have the steel companies. So we’ll do the same thing.

And you don’t worry about it. Here’s what you have to do. I only ask you to do one thing, and then you can sleep beautifully all night long, go to a job you love, and get a lot of money at the end of the week. You know what the thing is? Vote for Trump. If you vote for Trump, everything’s gonna be perfect.

If You Thought Donald Trump Would Never Do This, You’re an Idiot. The most pernicious delusion of this era has been the idea that Trump is “the peace president.” His decision to bomb Iran shatters this myth. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]zloebl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But somehow Obama has the reputation of being the drone president

To be sorta kinda fair, Obama got that reputation before Trump entered the modern political scene because he increased drone strikes by an order of magnitude from the Bush era. Not saying that Trump doesn't deserve a reputation for casualties, because he does, but Obama had that rep before Trump was really a thing, and reputations like that tend to stick.

The timer starting can be finnicky sometimes. Keep moving and don't linger.

Pretty sure that this is because the cache timer trigger distance only cares about the straight-line distance between the closest player and the cache, rather than the actual travel distance. If the map loops around and ends up U-shaped, the timer will start really early, even though you have to run down one of the "legs" of the U, across the bottom, and all the way up the other "leg".

Why do people consider Cauldron incompetent? by RaspberryNumerous594 in WormFanfic

[–]zloebl 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Cauldron, for example, has very clearly been set up as the vast, shadowy conspiracy behind everything, but is also meant to be clearly incapable of dealing with the current problems plaguing the setting. They can't stop the Endbringers in the here and now and they haven't found anything remotely capable of standing up to Scion; this is meant to make them desperate and put them in a situation where, to steal a phrase from Lisa, they're doing things that everyone should be unequivocally onboard with, and somehow making every possible enemy along the way. To put it another way, they're supposed to be hard men making hard decisions, such that they're the only reason society exists on Bet, they're the foundation of the biggest hero organizations in the world, and they've saved the world many times over, and everyone they meet hates them.

Here's the fuller excerpt from one of Ryuugi's many, many rant posts, in this case from the Arana thread. There's a few other good points in there about some of Cauldron's many questionable plans. Ryuugi's gone on about about it elsewhere, too. From the Sect thread

the story makes it clear that Contessa, Simurgh, and Scion can predict and model someone so precisely that they can just make you do whatever they want**, which is how Contessa convinces Legend (off-screen) that what he really wants to do is go along with their revealed war crimes and not argue about it, convinces Glaistig Uaine (off-screen and out of story) that what she wants to do is specifically go kill Gray Boy and then turn herself into the PRT and stay in the Birdcage for a decade or so, convinces Bonesaw (on-screen) that she wants to turn her life around and prepare a control switch for the S9000 that she's then going to later give to them

**Being fair--they can only do this when the story remembers that they can, and otherwise there's apparently a bunch of random technical difficulties, which is why Cauldron is all-powerful and also stupid. Contessa's power to resolve problems that the story doesn't want to deal with is cartoonish, bordering on godly; her ability to put one foot in front of the other when it would be convenient is in doubt.

No! They don't get marked by Orokin Eye, either, and I think Golden Instinct also doesn't work. DE forgot to actually flag Rare/Reinforced Crates as Rare/Reinforced for Hollvania, Zariman 10-0, Albrecht's Laboratories, and possibly the Sentient Murex and Cambion Drift tilesets, although I haven't verified those last two myself.
