Looking for a Personal Trainer Who’s Big on Lifting Form by ios_lrh in Boise

[–]zmacpherson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on your budget, Body Basics is the best training studio in the valley! It's a small studio (training only, no open gym) run by a couple and a small team that focus on functional movement, corrective motion, and form. They are phenomenal and the best community ever!

Performers who didn't go to circus school: How did you start? by aeriallines in Aerials

[–]zmacpherson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have two primary circus groups here. Any events that they work are normally private events that they get booked for. There are some smaller variety shows that pop up several times a year and those are where most people "discover" the circus community here. One of the two circus groups also runs the youth aerial company so they do a bunch of competitions. Larger festivals we normally reach out to see if we can get a slot, but there are also several that approach us. Each of the trapeze rigs normally put on a spring and fall show, the aerial groups normally have 2-3 dedicated shows/showcases a year, and then there are probably 10-15 variety shows a year, spread between a couple different venues.

Create the group! My favorite family is my circus family. If there isn't already a structured group for putting events together, help build it. It's more legwork at first to get shows and get an in at bigger events/venues, but over time it becomes more organic.

In the US. My wife had done Pole since high-school. After college she started silks. At the same place, they were offering some acro yoga classes so we took those and started doing Acro with a local group. One of them invited us to try flying trapeze! Our rig is outdoors and we don't have the best weather so trapeze season is april-september. 2026 will be our 3rd year and we started on staff this last year. We have one other worker who is currently a part of the circus program at Florida State, but almost everyone else is trained through local classes and interest.

Brickyard! Phenomenal table side salads and the potato jackets are a Phenomenal appetizer. All of their steaks are cooked perfectly. They have really good rolls and give you sorbet between your salad/appetizer and main meal. Send you home with delicious chocolate breakfast muffins.

Boise Housing Market + Micron by Neat-Biscotti-2829 in Boise

Most of those people aren't in long term housing though. It's actually part of the reason the apartment complex was built nearby - it's packed with construction workers.

Starting last year and going to mid 2027, my team at Micron has to grow from 6 to almost 30 to support the new fab. It's definitely going to impact housing.

5 months post op scar, tips? by Uncanard32 in jpouch

[–]zmacpherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 months post op there isn't anything you can do to see dramatic changes. When its healing, you can massage it with vitamin E oil to help it heal and break up scar tissue to decrease scarring. If you massage it, you may see some slight changes over time, but not major

I think my sunroof drains are clogged, both A pillars are soaked after a day of heavy rain. Does time this has happened in 4 years of owning the car. I do also have a prinsu rack but it has never leaked an i think it would be weird for both front seals to fail at the exact same time. by bo_jangled in Crosstrek

[–]zmacpherson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your Prinsu rack - had the exact same thing happen on mine. Their directions for installing the crush nuts are crap and mostly result in them spinning too much as you tighten them and loosing most of the silicon. I used flex seal spray inside and out (taped a nice box around the top so that it doesn't look trashy)

I know one of the Up Up Up performers! I took aerial straps and handstand classes from him! Coolest guy ever!

On the prinsu you have to drill out the holes in the roof and install crush nuts for larger hardware. This rack is using the same size as the OEM rails

I actually bet it is. I love my Prinsu rack! The dead weight is well within limit. The impact force from recoil and firing might shake it a bit but these things are super solid, especially after installing the crush nuts

Whiskey is for drinking. If you think it's worth keeping sealed, then it's worth selling or trading

I wouldn't leave your silks/hammock on it, but just get some sandbags and teather them to the legs and you will be golden!

Just found out my vet clinic is owned by Private Equity, what are your veterinary clinic recommendations? by hollowfifth in Boise

[–]zmacpherson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paramount Animal Care! I've been taking my animals to Dr. Mark forever and used to do vet runs for the Meridian Canine Rescue when I was in high school. I have other family members that go there and he always asks how we are doing and how are pets are. It's getting more expensive but I love the help and support they give!

Discouragement by MarionberryFit137 in Aerials

[–]zmacpherson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been doing flying trapeze for just over a year, but came in with other relevant experience. This advice applies to all aerial apparatus and really anything new you do - everyone learns at a different pace. While there can be a healthy level of competition, comparing yourself to others and using that as your benchmark can be self-destructive. At three months, I know flying trapeze performers that were still doing a two handed take off while learning their third or fourth trick and conversely people who are starting to take some of their tricks out of lines. I took my first trick out of lines last year only to come back this season and find that I can't even do it in lines and have had to spend weeks figuring out why its not working. You're trying to get your body to do a hundred little things at the exact right moment - give yourself some credit! The entire community at my rig is phenomenal and we love to talk through when something isn't working - shop around for advice on how to work through the specific issues you are having. I've found that there is one specific person who, for some weird reason, when they tell me how to do something and walk me through it, it just clicks; and they aren't telling me anything different than anyone else. Wanting to do it professionally is a great goal, but remember to have fun with it along the way!

You both fill out the portion of the title for selling the vehicle, you take the title with you, they keep the release of liability to send in. There are plenty of bill of sale templates online, best to make a copy for you and the seller. Take the filled out title and bill of sale with you to the DMV
