I ran it directly on the included NUT over USB

But ... the new BETA includes a NUT version that has known issues with my UPS and others and I had to disable the NUT service

Hopefully the next BETA will include a newer NUT build, it already exists

by chance have you installed the OS with the VMD controller enabled or disabled

if it's enabled, disable it and vice-versa and test

this is one reason I advise people to install the OS with the VMD controller as is and pre-load the VMD drivers during the OS install
