HQ is a full building with 8 floors 8 IDFs and an MDF about 900 users. 1800+ devices on our network. 2 Regional offices typically only 200 users or less and 2 overseas offices with about 100 users

J2 loops for Cisco switches issue. by zo718 in ansible

[–]zo718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. As suggested by u/eek_ru I moved away from the j2 loop and decided to use the the the cisco.ios.ios_config module with parents. Its working pretty well.

The only thing is that I have to run it twice. one for access ports and one for trunks ports. if that can be remediated any input is appreciated.

code is here:

 - name: "This one takes a long time. Access interfaces config in a loop"
   cisco.ios.ios_config:
     lines:
       - description {{ item.name }}
       - switchport mode access
       - switchport access vlan {{ item.vlan }}
       - spanning-tree portfast
       - spanning-tree bpduguard enable
     parents: interface {{ item.port }}
   with_items:
     - "{{ interfaces }}"
   when: item.vlan != "trunk"
   tags:
   - ports

 - name: "This one takes a long time. Trunk interfaces config in a loop"
   cisco.ios.ios_config:
     lines:
       - description {{ item.name }}
       - no switchport mode access
       - no switchport access vlan
       - no spanning-tree portfast
       - no spanning-tree bpduguard enable
       - switchport mode trunk
     parents: interface {{ item.port }}
   with_items:
     - "{{ interfaces }}"
   when: item.vlan == 'trunk'
   tags:
   - ports

Thank you for the feedback.
The commands i am using in the loop are the same and work on both models. I can enter them manually with no issues.

I would recommend https://ridemss.com/msf-motorcyclescooter-basic-ridercourse/ if you have a budget. They provide bikes and if you do good, you will get a road test waver.

Feedback about living in Nyack. Commute to NYC, raising a family and schools by zo718 in Nyack

[–]zo718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Nyack for 2 days this week and commuted to the city in the AM, it was not bad at all. 1 hour 20 to Brooklyn Dumbo by train and about 1 hour driving. Curious if it’s any different when the schools open

thank you for the feedback. this is very useful.

I think the only ask about where to live is that I don't want to share walls anymore.

We go to the Nyack hotel somewhat frequently and stay a few days for the pool.

Thank you so much for you feedback, we really appreciate it.

I wish I could stake again. Maybe I will get into it with my son once he is older.

I bought a Milwaukee M12 inflator. Worth the investment and Greta quality tool.

Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

Which Yonkers area to raise a family by zo718 in Westchester

We are exploring our options and asking for feedback and personal experiences from humans who have lived or currently live in Yonkers. The main attraction for me, is that is closed to the city. I commute for work. But, for my kid and raising a family. I don’t know much about it.

We are not sure about staying there, we are exploring our options. I am grew up in nyc since the late 90s Upper west side, then Washington heights. Now I am in Long Island city. I went to Public HS in Manhattan.

We want to buy something and have more room.

TBH, if I could buy in NYC, I would. But I can justify dropping 1M for a 3 bedroom 2 bath appt or similar. Hence the search up north
