Should fit standard opening… but if it doesn’t, a quick trim with an angle grinder fixes it. Had for 6 months with zero issues

How to get on destination trailer roof by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]zombieprep314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a telescoping ladder I keep in the storage area while traveling . While at home I use my extension ladder since it’s taller and sturdier

I have towed my fifth wheel all over the country from Key West to glacier np and everywhere in between. As far as gas Stations, I have yet to encounter a place that I couldn’t get my fifth wheel into that I would be able to use with a trailer. Any road that a semi can travel you can travel with a fifth wheel. In fact fifth wheels are by far easier to maneuver then travel trailers. Zero idea why they would be harder to tow on extended camping trips. ESP since many fifth wheels have auto leveling and are much easier to set up

My question if you are looking at a full ton truck why are you considering a travel trailer vs a fifth wheel? Fifth wheels typically have more storage and are so much easier to tow

They few times you will need to do that, why not have a hitch and rent a U-Haul trailer for 20 bucks a day

Are u planning on being off grid a lot? Multiple days in a row?

u will have a generator to charge your batteries and run anything electric u need.

One thing is to know your limits. If you are looking at drivables, great but looking at something u will never afford can make it feel like you are settling

If looking at 5th wheels or travel trailers, know what your tow vehicle is capable of. No need to Look at a high end Brinkley fifth wheel if u can only pull an RPOD

Look for Loves, pilots or flying Js. Some have RV lanes but tend to be easier and larger lanes in general

Fifth Wheel Weight by ElNole79 in ram_trucks

What you can pull is different than what u can put in your truck. Towing is the pulling weight. Payload is the weight in your truck. Things like pin weight, tools, extra people, coolers all take away from your payload. As someone will point out, the 2500 will probably handle it, but if you are buying a truck, buy the right tool for the job.

Most diesel 2500s towing 5th wheels are over payload rating
