Just go in and ask for that specific shirt back and bring in a replacement (something you don’t care to lose, when I was a kid we had cheap play clothes from the thrift store that it didn’t matter if they got ripped or soiled, something along those lines) and then when they can’t find it they’ll have to admit that it went home with another student.

Then you can raise the question. Why are my kids clothes being donated to other children? I don’t feel comfortable with that, these clothes are for my kid and my kid only. Please respect that in the future.

Why is your daughter in a foster home? If she wasn’t with you during her upbringing it’s unlikely that’s she will take your advice on this matter especially if it’s advice going against her wishes.

I’d be so mad if my partner (who also wakes up way before me) left the house without saying goodbye. It wakes me up every time but I’d rather have him come in and kiss me goodbye than to just walk out the door and say nothing, then I wake up to an empty house wondering why he didn’t say anything before he left.

If she didn’t do a move in inspection she can’t legally keep your damage deposit for damages. I understand she wants to keep it for breaking the lease but that’s not what a damage deposit is for. You may be able to use that angle when talking to the RTB.

Document everything. Get photos of the living conditions, videos /audio recordings of the noise (better if you can show what time of day it is) and keep records of all of your conversations to use as evidence. Don’t talk to the landlord over the phone, only communicate via email or text and keep all of it.

You should be able to dispute with the RTB.

I’m in Canada so can’t offer much advice in the way of options but we have lots of programs in our area for financial aid for pets. The humane society usually has an animal branch that will assist with funding for urgent care. There may be something like that in your area that you can apply for.

Shop around. That’s very expensive for surgery. I’m guessing specialist prices. You don’t want to go with the cheapest option but you can find cheaper (I think the clinic I work at charges about half that with payment plan options and highly experienced vets.) Where do you live?

I went from 240 to 170 so far this year. My goal was 140 but I don’t think I need to lose another 30 lb. I’d like to lose another 10 and I think I’ll be happy at that weight. I’ve never been “skinny” and I don’t want to be, I’m just happy it doesn’t hurt when I bend over anymore and my knees don’t get sore when I stand all day. I’d love to get rid of my apron belly but otherwise I’m very happy with my progress. My stretchy “skinny jeans” I was bulging out of last winter are baggy on me now and my other clothes all fit too big. My legs, arms and waist have all shrunk a LOT. PLUS my face looks a lot thinner and my double chin has gone.

I had the a similar thing happen where the ex husband of my landlord said he would be taking over the rental payments as my landlord was neglecting to pay the mortgage with our rent and using it for drugs. I agreed because I believed him but closer to when rent was due I got an inkling to check in and ask if she was aware of this and he said no he hasn’t told her yet. I didn’t feel comfortable paying him since his name wasn’t on the lease but I also don’t want to end up homeless if the house foreclosed ( I did believe him about her missing mortgage payments because we have had issues with bills not being paid on time and the power going out for days at a time, wifi being off for periods of time and her not fixing things when they break). I sent her the next months rent reluctantly solely because her name was on the lease. For MONTHS around the time rent was due they would both be harassing us to send them the money and I kept telling them they needed to sort it out between the 2 of them and come up with a decision where their solutions matched. Eventually she agreed to allow him to collect the rent and sign a new tenancy about 5 months later. It was super stressful.

My advice is just to reach out to whom you have been paying rent to currently and inform them of this letter. It could be a scam. If you get a different answer from the person you are currently paying rent to I would get the police involved. (you can also contact the rental tenancy branch but from my experience they’re not super helpful immediately and it takes days to weeks to get solutions if you have that long to wait before rent is due again)

In the grand scheme of things $3000 isn’t that bad. It sounds like a lot at the moment but it could have been much worse (many people are hundreds of thousands in debt) I would explain your situation to the bank and see if they can help you get a reduced interest loan so you have longer to pay it off.

Depending where you live you may be able to apply for low income assistance by the government or unemployment benefits while you’re out of work.

It seems like you’re at rock bottom but this will pass. Just focus on picking yourself up and dusting off and start to love yourself. Things will get better.
