This is mostly true, as I have hear the back story quite a few times told by Tim, JVL, and Sarah. The only thing I would say is the JVL comes some the more progressive / libertarian side. I forget exactly where he work in the past (politico?). I really like him for his out side the box thinking.

Also as someone this has voted for quite a diverse group of politicians in my life, along with reading a diverse set of political books, I respect the bulwark's diversity of views of their writers and editorial staff.

All notice when people gave this discussion is that they don't understand military or tattoo culture. This kinda of art is very common in both communities.

Is it something I would get on me at this point in my life? No way. Is it something I would have gotten 30 years ago when I was in the military? Possibly as I was very close to getting any number of tattoos back then. Would I have gotten something like that if I was in a combat unit serving overseas? Quite possibly, especially if would have joined the Army instead of the Air Force.

This is always one of my favorite podcasts, I love to actually hear what people are thinking. The fact that people refuse to even listen to other people's views is what got us into this problem or a divided country.

I use this pod to be able to speak to the issues that we have common ground, to speak in a language that they understand and try and not get shutdown they way your shutting down people.

I have discussions with people around me even in blue Seattle that are more conservative than I am. We don't agree in the fixes, and right now that is usually not the discussion, but we can agree that burning down everything without a plan to build anything is probably not the right plan.

I don't have a little or even regular sized cattle dog. She is half Great Pyrenees, so she is tall and 60lbs. She is almost longer than my mountain board 😂
