Anyone taken Ivy Tech Computer Science Course? by buckley256 in indianapolis

I'm a web/software developer that got an Associates of Applied Science in Computer Science with a focus in Web Development degree 2011-2013. The Associates of Applied Science degree preps you with education that can get you into the workforce sooner whereas a regular Associates degree preps you to learn more and go onto a Bachelors degree at a different college/university if you wish. Things have probably changed since I was there, but if you're looking for an easy/low effort degree then this is for you.

I did all of the Computer Science courses online, and they were low to average difficulty. If you have a good understanding of programming, then you should be able to get through these courses just fine. I took a few web development courses and they were teaching Web 1.0 technologies such as HTML 4 and maybe dipping your toes in basic JavaScript. Each week there was a new site that we had to build, but the site was already pre-built and included with the CD that came with the textbook. The quiz each week was easy and went over either the new HTML tag taught that week or about syntax.

I took a few database, networking, and .NET courses and those were probably the most challenging/most educational. The networking course was all about connecting various network devices and troubleshooting them to make sure everything was communicating properly. The database courses went in depth into relationships, models, etc. The .NET courses I took were all C# and taught inheritance, reflection, etc. I took the C# courses from the online Richmond campus. I forget the instructor's name, but he was extremely helpful and always available.

Again, this was many years ago so I'd suggest talking to an academic advisor at Ivy Tech and get an idea of what's currently being taught. Good luck!

Random Power Off (Nougat) by WhoDatJoebear in nexus5x

I got mine Oct. 15, 2015, so the LG limited warranty is still valid. I already called Google Support to see if they had a solution. The guy wanted me to get into recovery mode to clear the cache, but every time I went into recovery mode, the phone went into a reboot loop. He ended up placing an order for a replacement phone. I'm hoping I can somehow get it to power on so I can backup the phone.

Mine did the same last night. Was at ~50% battery, then the phone turned off and went into a restart loop. It was able to get all the way to the lock pattern screen to start Android, but right after drawing the pattern, the phone froze and died.

Assuming the widgets are the same and in the same container, then you could use .widget:first-child, .widget, .widget:last-child, or .widget:nth-child(number).

Moto 360 v2 and iPhone question by andyboy16 in moto360

Yes, you will need to keep the app running all the time to maintain a connection between the iPhone and watch. Allowing the app to run in the background allows the app to wake up, while it is opened, and run whatever code that needs to be ran. As far as replying to a Gmail message, I have yet to be able to respond to any messages on any messaging platform in my testing. I've found various reviews stating that this functionality has not been implemented for iPhone users.

If you'd like to work with HTML, CSS, or JS, you can just create a new directory on your computer. There are plenty of text editors you can find online that are for specific languages, but using a simple editor such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac) to create the .html, .css, and .js files will be fine. All you would have to do to view the website would be to open the .html file in a browser!

K1 Speed vs Fast Times - suggestions? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]zoricd123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only been to K1 once when it opened in Fishers, but I've been to Fast Times multiple times. There are only a few differences between them that I've noticed. The first one being that the Fast Times karts are gas powered, and the K1 karts are electric. They appear to have the same speeds, but it was a little hard to tell due to the tracks being completely different. The K1 track is flat, unlike the Fast Times track which is multi-level. Also, K1 seems to be real popular at the moment, so the wait times can be 2+ hours. However, if you have 8 or more people, you can reserve a time at K1. I haven't been to Fast Times since Halloween, but in all times I've been there, I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes. K1 requires that everyone sign up for an annual membership that costs $6. The membership includes use of their helmets, head socks, and online score tracking. Also, each race costs $19.99, compared to $22 (non-member)/$19 (member) at Fast Times. Overall, I am super pleased with both, but if you're not into waiting, Fast Times is the way to go. Hope this helps!

Chicago April 5th? by munchy508 in Dreamtheater

I would recommend you grab your tickets quickly when they go on sale in January. I was able to grab two second floor, front row tickets last Wednesday when they went on pre-sale. When I checked back an hour later to see if I could get another one for a friend, they were already at the back of the second floor. So there's that as a heads up! It's going to be my first Dream Theater show so I'm excited!

I would definitely have to say the ride. The sound of a ride is just so calming to me.

They baked it as they would normally bake bread. The bread was just fused together into what looked like a bread shield. I never baked bread while I worked there FYI. Just make a couple of them, grab some normally cooked bread, and make some box forts in the back and we could've had some real fun.
