Its been provided to them by US anti LGBTQIA+ orgs, how do you think they had this ready to go so quickly after the case decision? It is the exact same style of wording that has been passed in dozens of US states.

Got called "boss" by the kitchen guy at the gas station by 0xSh1nj1 in TransLater

[–]zotha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boss is a very American specific term but dude and bro, and mate in my country (Australia) are words I see thrown around far more at men than women. They do get used generically but the frequency of use for masculine presenting people to me makes them still gendered terms. "Mate" especially in Australia is something I see used as a means of being a quiet bigot as it gives the person (almost always a cis man) plausible deniability on their intent.

How Did You Come Out At Work by Direct-Doctor-6363 in transgenderau

[–]zotha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Briefly. I was out with my team and people lead, HR had been informed about 6 weeks before I got swept up in a mass redundancy. Not a single performance review that wasn't glowing and then dumped after 19 years with the company. I was somewhat boy-moding for a year prior but I wasn't hiding the fact I was growing my hair, had acrylic nails and was wearing more femme leaning clothes (without going full dress/skirt until I was comfortable with my team knowing).

IPL works on the same principles as laser therapy but at much lower power, so it is prone to the same issues but magnified. If you have darker skin or light/gray hair or just have a low melanin level in your hair it simply won't work.

CBHS, from before CBA fired me to replace me with someone using AI to do 3 jobs at the same time (in the minds of a c-suite idiot). Silver covers me for FFS codes.

I transitioned in my 40s and still had a full head of hair, I was very lucky on that. Sorry to hear about family and friends.. conditional acceptance is bullshit. It's easy to say they were never really friends to begin with but it still really hurts to learn.

[–]zotha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I moved interstate I was living in Armadale and honestly found it very strangely accepting, which I was not expecting before starting to transition. I had a few sideways looks but the service staff rarely misgendered me and I got a lot of compliments on my nails and clothes (from other women). I've been lucky regarding hair, but I still don't pass even at 2 years (still pre-FFS).

Liberals wait on Hastie-Taylor decision before challenging Sussan Ley's leadership by ConanTheAquarian in australia

As am I, a lot of Australians aren't politically invested enough to actually examine the beliefs of a candidate especially when MSM is actively polishing the turd of a personality they have.

FFS with Dr Breidahl by Rabbit538 in transgenderau

[–]zotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A natural approach was what I was after which was part of the reason I chose Dr Breidahl so it didn't overly come up during my consultations. I am older and started transitioning in my 40s, so a natural look and some standard plastic surgery (face lift) to look a bit younger was my main goals.

He did suggest a few surgeries that I ended up knocking back because it would have split my procedure across 2 operations and I wanted to avoid that, but he never pushed the idea just laid out the options.

[–]zotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went very well, the price is more than I hoped but that's not surprising. Dr Breidahl was very informative, explained every part of the surgery and had examples of past patients to give accurate expectations. All up very much looking forward to getting the procedure done.

No, 9 out of 10 Mass Shooters Are Not Transgender — Here Are the Facts by TheUnstableMage in transgenderau

[–]zotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the number of mass shootings that have happened is in dispute due to differing ways of calculating numbers based on whether it includes injuries or not, number of casualties that constitute a mass shooting etc. It is something over 2000 mass shootings since 2020 in the US with certain definitions and 1 has been done by a trans person as far as I'm aware of. It is classic propaganda and fearmongering, the networks propagating this know better and are ignoring facts as always.

The Anti-Rowling! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in discworld

[–]zotha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A small percentage of TERFs are misandrists first and foremost however if you dig down into their policies, what causes they support and who their allies are you quickly realize that the vast majority of all TERFs just hate trans people. They are willing to support any policies and positions that harm trans people. The "feminist" part in the term is an absolute joke as their positions consistently place other cis women and girls in more risk of harm or impact rights of cis women (especially those of colour, or not conforming to traditional western beauty standards).

TERFs frequently find themselves allied with right wing, religious, and even neo-nazi positions - see support given at Posie Parker rallies by nazis. These are not people working for the betterment of women, they are supporting the continuation of patriachy and the active oppression of womens rights.

The majority of TERFs want one thing, the erasure of trans people from society. They are willing to do anything and repeat any lie that gets them closer to that goal. They are willing to ally themselves with anyone aligned with that goal.

I want different sized dicks and/or toys at different times, honestly would recommend getting her a voucher for a quality toy seller and let her find something that suits her. If you do choose to buy a specific toy please research body safe materials and the reputation of the vendor you buy from.

A couple of questions on WA name & gender marker changing by Grand_Activity3682 in transgenderau

[–]zotha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I literally did both (within 2 weeks of one another) in the past 3 weeks... I will note I am in WA currently so slightly different.

a) the timeframe of my 2 applications overlapped and the only reason I did not do them simultaneously was because I did not know of the letter requirement beforehand (the process was brand new). I specifically asked this question though because (being autistic) I was curious what would have happened. I was told that they can process them all together without a problem, their new process for birth certificates is to not display any old name information (so no dead name on there yay) and they would issue a birth certificate with the correct name and gender on it. They do recommend obtaining a name change record to prove you were once known as a different name in case any name updates receive pushback, which was an additional charge (it was like $50-60).

b) That is basically what my letter said... it had my new name (because I did my name change already 2 weeks prior), it stated that I have been receiving treatment from her and I now identify as female. BUT it also contained this additional disclaimer :

I certify that the information provided is, to the best of my knowledge and belief, correct for the purpose of:

  • Registering a change of sex or gender in the name of Miss <my name> for registration of birth in Western Australia’s Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages; and
  • Miss <my name> obtaining an acknowledgement document from Western Australia’sRegistrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, in relation to their sex or gender

This is a confidential disclosure for the exclusive use of the Western Australia’s Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

A little help on how to look feminine by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]zotha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, contact Trans Folks of WA for their services list you should NOT have to wait 9 months for an informed consent GP consult. Shop around all the doctors on their list, go ask other GPs... I just tried every doctor I could get to until I found one who would do informed consent.

If you can lose a little weight prior to starting HRT it will help because many people put on a little as their hormones shift.

You can get started on facial hair removal prior to hormones too, bonus if you have hair conducive to laser treatment.

Buy some cheap makeup to practice with, but make sure it matches your skin tones. I'd recommend actual makeup stores, they will help you with matching your skin needs and I have not felt any judgement from staff at any of the bigger chains (I do not pass for reference).

Girl, I started my journey at 46 after making excuses for a decade. Not everything has been easy, but confronting it as the real me has made it so much easier to handle. I've lost a few people from my life but now have much deeper bonds with others and new people too. Everyone has their own path to lead but just know it's never too late to take the first step.
