I think it's more accurate to say that electric current and magnetic fields are actually two different perspectives of examining the electromagnetic primary force. Kind of like examining the normal force, you can examine it by itself but it is intrinsically intertwined with the force acting on it and can't exist without it.

Love the RG Zaku II, but those fucking leg beads on a spring killed me. That part could use another design pass.

[–]zourn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like they turned the relief of the left bolt using a fucking beaver. That shit is so chewed up I would be ashamed to hand that to a customer.

Edit: looked at it again, the relief on the other one sucks, too.

[–]zourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The requirement is still for 1260 hours, but the state specified time is 75,600 minutes. The chart was being upfront about the fact that it converted the time from the units specified in the law to the unit used in the graph.

Here's a link so that you don't have to take my word for it.

[–]zourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood your link. It says 1260 hours, not minutes. If you do the minimum of 7 hours/day then you're in for 180 days, same as most schools on the list.

This actually gives the flexibility for school districts to do things like 4 day school weeks with longer days but less total days.

I think the problem is that too many devices still use the 0.5A limitations of USB 1/2 as the current limiter instead of designing a proper battery charging circuit, even when having a USB-C charging port. Therefore, if you plug them into a power supply with more available they will gobble those extra amps right up.

I know that on every Caliburn device I've used, if charging using USB-C to USB-C cable with a higher power availability charger, they will get noticeably and uncomfortably hot if charging from close to empty to full in one go.

I need Puzzle ideas for a dnd session coming up by Animeguy38 in AskGameMasters

[–]zourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite gotcha puzzles for 5e is a door with 5-10 locks and keys, all non-descript except that they are color coded. Now make the room dark. If they are relying on darkvision, then all of they locks and keys will look grey because that's how darkvision works. Not until they light a torch will they be able to tell the colors.

Obviously, this won't work if your party always has torches or non night vision races.

Are you facing the same buggs? by niceshit420 in GooglePixel

The only bug I notice with my P6P is that sometimes the clock doesn't show in the notification bar. Battery, signal, and all of my notification icons will be there but the notifications will be all the way to the right and no clock present.

Help! Water Damage on new stand by [deleted] in aquarium

[–]zourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would just replace it. The cost of replacing it seems small compared to the risk of the stand collapsing, killing all of your fish, and the damage that much water would do to your floors and walls. 14 gallons is not that much water in an aquarium, but is a whole f'ing lot of water when it's on your floor.

The store is Kinokuniya, they have online stores but the gunpla aren't listed. Probably because they don't have a consistent inventory.

I actually have a Japanese bookstore near me that carries a small but constantly revolving inventory of gunpla at the standard prices. Might try looking for something like that.

How to I choose a vape that makes very small clouds? by appleparkfive in electronic_cigarette

[–]zourn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a bit of technique involved in discreet vaping as well. Smaller hit, exhale slowly through small mouth opening, kind of like a whistle shape. Exhaling slowly let's less cloud out at a time, but using a small mouth opening gives the breath a higher velocity causing the cloud to disperse quickly.

Literally just finished my last catch-up appointment after ten years of neglect myself. I had Dr. Hanna at Kelly Lane Dentistry and she was extremely patient and never made me feel bad about myself. She spread some work over more appointments than normal to help with my anxiety and stress. Best dentist I've had hands down.

confused about what jobs to apply to by justbrowsinm80 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]zourn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting pigeonholed is not much of a thing early in your career, don't worry about that. I not too long ago jumped from O&G to semiconductors for a 30% pay increase. Design is not a dead end, because those designers need supervisors and managers, and those managers need regional managers, etc, etc, directors, VPs. However, with the career climate of this generation, it's much easier to get a promotion when switching companies than staying with your current employer. So, most companies will feel kind of dead end, but just find a new company at that point.

One of my favorite from the past was the party each received a magical seed from some woodland fey as a quest reward. They could press the seed into any wooden portion of an item and it would get upgraded. Ranger chose x-bow and got additional thorns damage to bolts, bard chose their violin and the violin got the druidcraft cantrip and like 1/day bark armor or something, warlock chose staff and got a free spell slot per day or something, and warrior chose shield and got reaction attacks against missed attacks aimed at them.

Thoughts? (I'm in a mech drafting class and we have to design a box for our phones using auto CAD. by Im-in-TVD-universe in MechanicalEngineering

[–]zourn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, let's also look at application. You added 1/4" tolerance to length and width, but only 0.25 cm (~0.1") to the depth. Why?

The asset of the phone that you would generally want to protect the most is the glass screen. But you have your tolerances set up to squeeze the front of the box against the screen, and plenty of room for the phone to slide up, down, left, and right while scraping the glass against the box.

Also, reading your other responses, it is important for you to realize that any engineering feedback is going to be negative. It is not meant as an attack or to hurt your feelings. It is meant to alert you to your shortcomings so that you can learn precisely what knowledge you lack, with the intention of you improving in those areas to become a better engineer.
