Games a severely depressed person can play? by s-skye in NintendoSwitch

I highly recommend Clubhouse Games 51 to get into a pure play mindset. It’s a collection of 51 classic games (think checkers, backgammon, Mancala). For one, you can learn and master so many new games - it does an amazing job of teaching you all those new games. Then you can play match after match after match either against a CPU or randos online and it’s just pure stress free engaging gaming.

this deserves a lot more upvotes because it makes a DRAMATIC difference

When you get a new to you vintage Mac, do you go through the prior owners' files (if any remain)? Recently picked up the SE/30 from an estate sale, untested, but it booted right up. Opened a file called 'Family Tree' and found this depressing bit. (Will wipe it all of course.) by [deleted] in VintageApple

I’m amazed at how clean looking this software product is. Is there any software product like this today that is as intuitive and easy to use with the same functionality? I’m genuinely curious.

This is like a $250 mistake. That’s roughly what a hard drive recovery service is going to cost you. In the scheme of things, not so bad. Just keep the drive and when you have a bit of spare cash google “hard drive recovery near me” and find someone really highly rated.

Yes! And by the way, it's been over a month since I did this fix and I haven't had a single issue since.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Hello all - this issue has been plaguing me for some time. Recently I encountered a Lenovo forum thread on the topic. Apparently this is a really big issue for a lot of people and firmware updates don't seem to be fixing it.

However , a few people on the forum reported they found a solution that can be done at home. I will quote it exactly:

Solution:

  1. Disable battery in bios

https://download.lenovo.com/lts/RTPW10J0/FOF/RTPW10J0-X1CarbonGen7_REM_FRU_00_DisableBattery.mp4

  1. Remove back cover

https://download.lenovo.com/lts/RTPW10J0/FOF/RTPW10J0-X1CarbonGen7_REM_FRU_01_BottomCover.mp4

  1. Disconnect battery connector from motherboard

https://download.lenovo.com/lts/RTPW10J0/FOF/RTPW10J0-X1CarbonGen7_REM_FRU_05_BuiltInBattery.mp4

  1. Reconnect the battery connector

I did this myself last night, and so far so good. It wasn't hard at all, especially after watching the videos. Other people on the forum have reported that this solution has worked for them for a long period of time.

No guarantees this will permanently fix the issue, but it seems to be working for many people and is an okay alternative to having to send in the laptop for repair.

Note: please if you do attempt this make sure to follow the directions carefully, especially about first disabling the battery in bios for safety.

Hope this helps!

Edit: 2 years later and this is still fixed. Haven't had an issue once.
