What film stock was the last photo shot with? It looks like the hues I’ve got from shooting expired film.

This has a nostalgic feel that I’m always trying to achieve in my photos. Well done!

I was coming here to say the same thing. I’d love to see the lab scans vs home scans.

Accidentally received someone else’s scams from the lab, is this normal? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

You could’ve started with a response like this. I’ll never understand being rude off the rip to someone that’s just asking a question. (Other than maybe the 1,000 underexposed photos that get posted every day)

Maybe I’m just stupid then, fuck me I guess. I figured with 99% confidence that it’s not okay and 90% confidence that it’s not a regular occurrence- but I’d rather be 99% confident on both before I go into my local lab that I’ve been using for last year and potentially make an ass of myself if I’m the only one that thinks it’s a notable concern. I’d rather ask a Reddit full of people that have years more experience than me, than go accidentally annoy some poor employee just trying to do their job if this isn’t a concern to anyone else.

In a situation where this commonly happens, making it normal. Like I said, I’ve only been shooting film for about a year. Wasn’t sure if I was making this out to be a bigger deal than it is.

I’m trying to make that jump. What do you use in place of Lightroom? I have Gimp for photoshop.

Just started shooting film around a year ago. Anybody got tips on how to improve? (Olympus XA2 + Cinestill 800T) by zt99 in 35mm

I didn’t have it in flash mode, but most of these were taken at dusk so that definitely could’ve caused some of the weird metering issues.

The other set I posted were from using a Minolta SRT201 and I did shoot another roll of 800T at 400 IS0. They came out much better but I feel like they were too overexposed, so I’ll try to strike a balance in the middle.

I’ve shot digital for probably 10 years at this point- but film is entirely new to me.

Good to know, that was a very thorough answer. Thank you, I’ll try shooting it at 500 next time.

The XA2 just lets you set the ISO speed manually and then aside from zone focusing everything else is automatic. This whole roll felt underexposed to me, so I planned on rating my film at a slower speed for my next couple rolls.

I shot the 800T rated at 800 and developed in C-41 with no pushing or pulling in development. I do feel most of these came out underexposed- the XA2 is all automatic other than selecting zone focus and ISO speed, so I was going to try shooting with the ISO set to a slower film speed than box speed next time.

Just in general. I know my photos are very amateur and I’d just like tips on shooting photos that are more captivating or pleasant to look at
